I had a friend who used to use one to data log on his off-road truck. He said it worked pretty good for his purpose. 1 thing he did mention was to mount with some form of isolation. He used a rubber mount he made, said that even though he used the truck heavily off road that even in a overland...
There was a decent amount of people out put not bad. We had a bit of difficulty finding a spot that we would fit in and ended up finding our spot that came with a couple neighbors. They were still a good distance away and outside of the odd laugh or yell we didn't hear either of them. If we...
I hear you on the wind there. Our awning on our trailer started catching the wind while driving through there and we ended up pulling over and putting some straps on it. As you can see in the picture it looks jank but worked lol. Need to find a better way of securing it since the only mounting...
Yes we did and trip was great. We had my friend who was a first timer with us and couldn't have been happier. With our set up it can be hard sometimes to find a place due to the space needed. Days were in the mid 70s and at night lowest it got was high 40s. There was a fire ban on till the 1st...
If there is a new person going that doesn't know how to use their gear it is best to try and get with them before hand and show them in an easy setting ( like at home) how their gear works. @DieselPoweredCamel how many times did I tell you to set up and pack up your tent before we go on your...
+1 ^. I would have to agree. I have had trucks and cars with out splash guards or complete inner fenders and it's not all it's cracked up to be lol. Now these were not daily drivers and I live in socal so it was not as big of an issue but my off-road trucks that didn't have them were a pain to...
It might just be the bag. I have seen a trend the last couple years that even though it states say 30* bag really the comfort zone is in the 45*-55* zone and while it will keep you in theory safe you won't be comfortable.
I would feel trapped with all that stuff on and around me lol. Makes me grateful for the heater in the trailer. Although I am also a cold sleeper, I tend to like being on the cold side so generally I am good down to about 35 degrees or so with my sleeping bag before I begin to complain lol. the...
I don't get tired of it because we don't allow it. Everyone is responsible for their own gear and set up then everyone pitches in to help for general/community gear/camp set up. This allows for the ones with faster set ups to help those with slower and to get general stuff set up/ torn down...
I had a friend that went with a 6 inch foam mattress that they got off Amazon during prime days. They said it was pretty easy to trim to fit and his wife redid the mattress cover to fit
Replaced the alternator on @DieselPoweredCamel rig after it failed last night ( sucked for work today but glad it happen now as we are leaving Friday on a 4 day trip) and while we were at it upgraded from 105 to 130amp alt with new belt. Than while he did his much needed oil change ( as he said...
Very cool set up. I am very interested in how you mounted the gear attic. I thought about getting one and modding it to fit my truck (ram 1500) but wasn't sure it would work.
Depending on the route you plan to take if you are going through the bishop area I would stay a couple days and check it out. Alot of historical stuff to check out and cool things to see especially if you are into ghost town and old building remains
