What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

This MJ has been a lot of fun for the last 8 or so years. I'm the 7th owner and it was pretty much stock when I got it. I've done a lot to it but it's generally been mechanical / electrical refreshing and cosmetics like adding the Turbines and the sports bar. It's a 1988 2WD Eliminator...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Thanks! I've liked those wheels since they first came out. Generally referred to as "Turbines" now they were simply listed as 10 spoke wheels in the sales brochures of the time. I bought an XJ Laredo new in 1990 (long gone now) and was adamant that I got those wheels. There were 2 options...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Thanks guys. I haven't had a chance to test it on a trail yet but I think I've hit every pot hole in town (on purpose) and so far so good. It's solid!

    Water Management

I've been doing this for the last few years and it makes a big difference in water savings, not having to carry dish washing equipment and in reducing grey water. A few other things ... don't cook more than you can eat, eat all that you cook, use paper plates and bowls and burn them, wipe your...

    Camp security

Hardly fool proof but for trips when I sleep in my Jeep and plan to take off for any length of time, I sometimes bring a small tent and use it as a "garage". I've kept all kinds of things in this little air suspension tent (paddle & fishing equipment, bike, wood, chair, beer(!), etc.). The...

    good anti theft clamp?

I use a Sportrack lock for my axe and shovel. I made a cable to loop the shovel handle to the lock. Both are mounted to the box on the tongue of my trailer.
