This is why I like the tagging approach instead of strict sub-forums. You could choose to see by only the Subi tag, or by the Subi + Forester tag. I definitely don't want to go into multiple nesting layers either. This may be handled by the existing search already (I'll have to play around with...
Found some info here: Death Valley National Park - Pawsitively Intrepid
Looks like you may need to plan to fall back to the BLM land, which is close. I don't have any personal experience camping out there, even though I lived in the neighboring town of Trona during my childhood. Used to drive...
I'm going camping in March, even in our cold and wet weather. The only thing I'm waiting on is a heater since I don't have a warm enough sleeping back. Can't wait to use some of the gear I've been adding to my inventory and to be outside!
This is the best approach; however, I would love to see discussions by tags then. I've always been a fan of how Stackoverflow (software development forum) shows discussions/questions grouped by tags. See this link and look by the Tags option in the left menu and the related tags on the right...
Ouch!
I'm using this mount from Retrofit Offroad: Jeep JL Rotopax Tailgate Hinge Mount | Retrofit Offroad
The only problem is when I go up in tire size, I'll need to find a new solution. However, I'm not in a rush and will just wait until I need new tires to go up to 35s (or more?). Also, this...
I decided to trade in my '17 Ford Explorer for my JLU Rubicon at the end of the summer. I've had a '03 TJ for fun rides for 1.5 years, but my kids hated the back seat. After looking every which way to see if a 5th gen Explorer could be improved for off pavement experiences, I decided it was...
Sure thing. There are lots of reviews on YouTube. It's great since it pairs with a iPhone/Android phone so you can manage tracking and do texting via the Garmin Earthmate app paired to the Inreach device. It's worked well for communicating with my wife when outside of cell phone range. It has...
Are you looking for voice comms or just remote comms? Garmin Inreach mini is a common solution for satellite texting, SOS, and tracking. But it doesn't offer voice comms.
I spent my childhood growing up on the edge of San Bernadino county in Trona, right near the Trona Pinnacles and Death Valley. Hope you are enjoying WA!
Had a blast today around the L.T. Murray Wildlife area having my wife try driving off pavement in some fun roads. Some off camber, steep sections, and large icy mud puddles. She was having fun but didn't like the off camber and some of steepest spots. But overall, this was a big step for her.
I do keep those around as backup, just in case other options aren't available. But at least in the past, I didn't like the taste and I prefer to be able to filter out particulates as well.
I have used a backpacking MSR filter in the past for hiking. It's just a slow option for 2 gallons.
Yes, I like this option. I may be able to rig up something that will screw onto the rotopax spout so its just set it and forget it till its done.

I'm curious if there are any accessories that directly attach to the Rotopax Water Packs to filter water?
I've searched online, in the forums, and am not finding much. I have found this interesting Spout Kit, but I'm interested in filling one with a wild water source and filter it as it comes out.
That's probably to avoid looking certain areas around Seattle and Portland where RVs are being used as semi permanent encampments anywhere they'll be left alone. It's a real problem due to the trash they pile up around them.
I moved up a few months ago from my 2003 TJ and 2017 Ford Explorer (daily driver) to my 2020 Jeep JL Unlimited Rubicon Recon Edition with the 2.0T engine. For now we're calling it the Razor Crest due to our geekiness and fondness for the Mandolorian.
I've been enjoying just day outings with it...
Location: King County, WA (in the burbs outside of Seattle)
I started getting into offroad experiences 2 years ago with a 2003 Jeep Wrangler. It was going to be tough to go camping with and to bring my kids, so purchased a 2020 Jeep JLU Rubicon a couple months ago. I like some of the slightly...
