Your trailer is looking great. I like the design. Mine is a "custom" model as well. (Aka homemade) There are things I would change but mine was built by a friend back in the early 90's and I got it for free after it sat on his dad's property for many years. "Beggars can't be choosers" applies...
Thanks for the bump. Someone needs to make an offer and take this thing home. I just bought a 2019 Tundra Platinum. The old Land Cruiser needs to find another home so I can buy some goodies for the Tundra. If my fiance is reading this I'm looking forward to using the money for the wedding in...
Thanks for looking. I would love a v8 swap but this thing will run down the highway just fine as it is. Certainly not like the modern motors we have now obviously. It does take a little extra time to get to highway speeds of course... :)
The interior is in really nice condition. The front driver's seat is a little jacked up and is shown in the picture. The dash is fine with no cracks. I have some random stuff in the back because it acts as temporary storage since I rarely drive it. If you look around the clutter you'll see...
No they are not in there. The guy I got it from has them in storage somewhere and will give them to me when he comes across them. I've been waiting for about 4 years...
I guess it's still for sale. I go back and forth on whether I want to sell it or not. I know I'll regret it if I do but I could use the money for other stuff. I can probably do a YouTube walk- around on it this weekend so people can see how nice it is. I cleaned it out so it's presentable now. :)
When you get there go to the Panther Junction gift shop and buy this book. It's $3.95 and lists the roads and interesting things to see on them. It's a great resource. There are probably others but $3.95 fits my budget perfectly.
They're everywhere. Pretty much any camping spot there (that I know of or can think of right off hand) will work for RTT's. Obviously I don't know every spot and am not an expert but still. We stay at Rancho Tapango camp grounds usually because they have nice bathrooms and showers. It's a...
I have the Dobinson's brand awning and it is great. (I think they are all about the same.) I don't have the room yet but I will get one eventually so it will be similar to my RTT annex and provide addition options when camping or hanging out.
My trailer was built using 2" square tubing as the frame and it's very stout. I'm certainly not a fabricator but I would think 2" would be the smallest you should go. This would also allow you to bolt to or screw into the frame in the future of you chose to mount something else.
2x2 square tubing has worked for mine that was built in the early 90's. My friend who built it (and later gave it to me) used an axle from a small bass boat trailer because that's what was available at the time and we live at a lake so they are easy to come by. The "box" of the trailer is 8' by...
We went for ten days last March and it was great. Very few people there. The way I see it as long as it's not summer or those certain days when "everyone" goes to big bend (Thanksgiving being an example) it's a good time to be there.
When I was there last March the guy at the grocery store said every Thanksgiving is gets crazy down there. The line to get in the park was backed up to Study Butte supposedly.
My reasons mirror many of those already mentioned but I'll tell you why I didn't join OB in the beginning. When it all started I was watching Michael and Corries videos already and later saw that a community was being created that eventually became what it is now. My thoughts in the beginning...
These are from our recent trip to Ouachita National Forest in Oklahoma/Arkansas. This particular site is the Billy Creek camp. We also traveled the scenic highway but visibility was about 30 yards due to the fog so not very scenic.
I just purchased the premium version a few days ago. I wasn't real happy when I tried to use it this past weekend but hopefully it's just because I'm a new user and haven't figured it out yet. I can see some usefulness for sure though.
