    M715 Adventure Rig

Just grab a hydro boost from the junk yard. Mine was only $30 including the master cylinder. As for the front drive line angle unless you are using 4x4 on the road at speed a little steeper angle shouldn't hurt, or just do what chevy did for decades and use the double cardon joint. The...

    1958 FC-170

Slow but still progress. A little more bumper work with working on an idea to bring it around the corners of the cab. It will have a chamfer instead of the sharp corner to better follow the curve of the cab. I finally decided where I can fit the fuse panel so the wiring can get done also.

    1958 FC-170

It continues with a little front bumper progress and a few holes for lights, winch cable and dual 2.5 receiver mounts/recovery points.

What to do if you punch a hole in your fuel tank miles from nowhere

All good ideas in this thread. But I still prefer to have two tanks on a vehicle. Build them out of 1/8 inch plate with shut off valves and then travel the off road with little worry.

    Cutting down road noise....

Just add 6 gallons of lizard skin and that should keep it quiet. (i did it on my project in my build thread and it made a huge difference) :sunglasses: Be careful with truck bed liners inside a cab as they off gas and those fumes aren't good for anyone.

    70 K20 Suburban

You should be able to adapt a later 70's k20/k30 sway bar without much issue. Just not sure how much of your articulation the with kill. My projects plan is more leafs and ride like a brick until loaded.

    1958 FC-170

Rusty burbin got it exactly right "Awesomeness":sunglasses: It was going to be a flat bed any way due to the original being way past saving. So why not make it a much more usable dump bed. Plus how many truck loads of wood do you have to unload by hand before you say I wish could push a...

    1958 FC-170

Project is still moving forward. -smoothing out some welds. -beginning on the bumper (it will have multiple angles at the ends to follow the body shape better) -the always fun electrical. -then finally sand down the outside and spray the thing finally.

    1958 FC-170

Well still moving on it slowly, a third order of lizard skin was placed since the first inside layer turned out to be a bit thin. The goal is to attempt to keep the road noise and engine heat down as much as possible in the cab.

    1958 FC-170

Well ran out of time to make the UP trip. But still progressing. The bottom of the cab is finally done and it is back on the frame for the last time. Two layers of lizard skin sound control and two layers of lizard skin ceramic insulation, followed by two coats of dark army green urethane. Now...
