    Rig Names

After seeing @jordanbrooks name his new Jeep according to the results of the poll (I totally voted for Blue Steel), it got me thinking. I've always just called my vehicle "the Jeep" but that may change. You see, I first bought a CB radio... then I watched Big Trouble in Little China... I think...

Would this not work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/262257588982 I'm not a Landcruiser guy, so I have no idea. Seems pricey.

When Should You Replace Overland Rig Tires?

Yeah I'd agree with @jordanbrooks that if the tires aren't old and the tread is good, you should be good. The only things I'd worry about are the sidewall nicks. If they are pretty deep, it could be worrisome (obviously weakening the sidewall). My last set of BFG ATs went about 65k, and the...

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

Went on a solo trip up into the Cohuttas and Big Frog wilderness areas. I'll post the route and more photos later in another thread. It was a wicked fun trip.

2001 Jeep XJ build (Blue Steel)

Oh cool. Did it lift it past factory height, or just put it back? I'd guess you know this already, but from what I've read, the factory ride height is 17.5" front and 17" rear, measured from the middle of the hub to the bottom of the fender flare.

You gonna move the airbox and put the battery there or mount it in the back somewhere?

A Simple Jeep XJ Overland Build

Yes! Luckyyyy. I actually bought a Grand Cherokee one. I'm not sure it'll attach correctly because the XJ ones have the visor attachments. Is there a screw in the middle of the front of yours?

A Simple Jeep XJ Overland Build

Also ordered an overhead console. It was optional on these Jeeps. It has a built-in thermometer, mpg gauge and maybe something else? I kinda like the idea of a sunglass holder up there (and more room for switches and whatnot ). Anyway, I'm not sure how easy that install will be, but I...

A Simple Jeep XJ Overland Build

Welp, I got the CB all hooked up this past weekend. Been listening for the past few days. It's interesting what you hear on there! Photos: I went with this one I found on Amazon: Unidan Bearcat 880. I'll be honest and say that I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing as far as radios go...
