I used to carry a Benchmade Auto-stryker, but the metal seemed to not want to hold an edge. Now I use CRKT knives as I’ve had great luck with them, the m16 knives are hard to beat.
Definitely “Leave it better than you found it”. I’ve been in so many spots where I’ve had to pick up others trash before I could set up. Nothing gives a group a worse image than their trash lying all around. We are stewards of the land and have to take care of it, or we’ll lose it. I’ve also...
I’m thinking of hitting all or parts of the SCAR (South Carolina Adventure Route) with friends and family…now just have to decide when. Or maybe another trip to Uwharrie. Decisions, decisions.
After searching I’m kind of thinking of trying the Baofeng GMRS radios. I have a friend who has a HAM installed in his Jeep but I’m not completely sold on mounting a permanent radio and external antenna yet. Has anyone used the Baofengs?
Has anyone done the SCAR (South Carolina Adventure Route)? I’m thinking of driving it, or parts of it, with family and friends and just looking on some input.

Hey yall, I’m looking into updating my communications. What have yall found that works for yall? I’m debating between handheld and mounted options…or mounted with maybe walkie talkies for spotters.
Any luck with this issue? I still can’t access any member area or activate my account. Each time I try to activate it through the email it says it’s already been activated code 94.
A friend of mine turned me onto the Glock knife. I’ve carried their pistols for decades and this knife is amazing and super tough. Holds an edge real good too! I’ve used to split small pieces of wood and then to cut my steaks (after washing it).
Not super close to Asheville but we love going to Uwharrie, and also Pisgah area near Brevard. Also Brown Mountain area and staying at Betsey’s in the camping area.
A great tent and sleeping gear. And don’t forget a pee bottle to keep in your sleeping bag…nothing worse than being warm and cozy then having your get cold just to urinate. Also the heat from it will add some to the bag (may be gross to some but it works)!
