US East DIY Expedition Camper Trailer

Looking to sell my homemade expedition trailer before our new teardrop arrives. The box itself is 4x8 and made out of marine grade plywood that was soaked and sealed with an epoxy cure. The box sits on a Harbor freight trailer that was welded together, has a 2x2 steel tube running down the...

Few questions for Hiker Trailer owners.

Do you happen to have a hitch mount bike rack on the trailer as well? Curious about the weight of that in regards to handling on the hwy. We ordered the Nomadic awning with ours since it can be opened without using poles, we'll see how it works out. Already have a 40qt 12v cooler but thinking...

Placed an order for a loaded up off road Hiker trailer yesterday.

Nice! We ended up with the fridge box (no slide) and wood rack above as well. I considered doing the wiring myself since I have loads of experience with it but ultimately opted to get the whole solar setup wired in the front box. I'm going to put a 200ah lithium battery in it once I sell one of...

Yeah until I know what's under the floor I won't be able to design anything I suppose. If there are any metal supports running side to side or front to back under the trailer I can just weld a cross piece in. We'll see. Glad to hear you like the Hiker Trailers. Looked at so many brands and Hiker...

Placed an order for a loaded up off road Hiker trailer yesterday.

In the eight months it takes to build I'm going to start designing the 3D model for the swing out/pull out stove and counter top. Id love to start fabricating it right away but I'm not taking any chances on fitment. I had this idea about using a swing joint/pivot for a spare tire mount to create...

Few questions for Hiker Trailer owners.

Hey all - Anyone have an offroad version with upswing galley door? How do you like it? Also have a batwing awning? Does it work out with the upswing? Anyone know the overall dimensions of the 5x9 offroad? Is there anything you added or didn't add that you wish you had? Thanks Mike

    DIY Electrical Fuse box!

This is almost the exact same setup I have in my expedition trailer.

    DIY Electrical Fuse box!

The grey "12v" line coming from the bottom of the fuse panel should actually come from the top of the panel if that's a negative wire. What is the yellow box?

Older build here from a new member

Hey all. Just wanted to share a trailer that I built three years ago on a harbor freight frame. I ran a piece of 2x2 steel tubing down the middle and welded it on to give the trailer rigidity and also added a 3500lb axel. The box is made with marine grade 3/4' plywood that I only joined with...

    Traveling with a guitar

I love my little Yamaha GL1 guitalele. It's tuned to A but you can play it just like any other guitar. Perfectly portable and only about $100 a guitar center or amazon.

    Hello

Hey all - I'm not necessarily an overlander but I do love camping and fishing. Back before I knew anything about overlanding me and my high school buddies, that both had SR5 trucks, would go muddin' and campin. Definitely miss that truck. Anyway a few years back I built my own travel...
