We are just a bit north in Tn and we were thinking about heading down there possibly this afternoon. Does any one know what the current status is? Probably camp overnight if open.
I am selling my kids gear. They have out grown it. We bought it all last summer and they used slept with it about 6 nights total. All gear is clean with no rips tears etc. I have 2 REI Nodder 25 deg bags and 2 Klymit Static V Junior pads. Bags were $80 new looking for $40 each pads were $45 new...
We have been traveling for weeks and just ended up with a change of plans in Asheville. We were planning to be home in Tampa Aug 4 but maybe we could push a day if u all have room for 1 vehicle fam of 4.
I have been using the rv4 for over a decade. Unless you have a long bed full size truck it will go on the roof rack. Racks that have an elevated cage will most likely be to short forcing a diagonal load which kills rack space badly. Standard Yakima bars or a flat platform are the best solutions...
Proven motor. Just don't expect to lead a caravan on the road portion. My 96 taco with 4.88 gears and 33" tires get over 20 mpg on the highway and has plenty of grunt for the trails.
Oz tent has been riding up top since I got mine in 2007. I recently updated to a jettent f25x. This was a mistake. It is to large to in the back of my 80 next to my 63l engel. And the first and only time I loaded it in the roof I almost blew out a testicle lol. That mother wieghs 80lbs.
Probably...
My worst was in baja. My buddy had just installed a prototype suspension on his new fullsize chevy. About 6000 miles into this trip the vertical bolt on the upper control arm broke off as well as part of the bearing flange. Anyway. We had the head of the bolt and we were lucky enough to scrounge...
Last thing I bought was 2 weeks ago. Adjustable front and rear trac bars and adjustable upper and lower rear control arms for my 80. I might need a new double cardin drive shaft for the bow, but I won't know until I get all this installed and aligned.
Nice truck. I have been working on the Slinky project for along time and still trying to get it finished. Many delays I just hope in the end it is worth it. Any pics of her back side?
Nice rig. Keep an eye on those yakima towers. Plastic tends to get weak after several years of sun exposure. I have broken a few with heavy loads before.
I have always been into the outdoors and camping. I guess it really started in canoes. I never did get the whole whitewater lets go sit at one spot and surf the wave all day mentality. I wanted to explore waterways and camping was just a natural part of that. As my range increased in my early...
I think they both have thier merrits. I have used alot of tents in my life. Old miltary style canvas, to light wieght Marmot, etc brands. We have been running an Oztent RV4 since 2007 and just recently decided to pass on roof top tent due to the way we travel. We tend to base camp and use the...
Hello all, It is almost leaving time for our big summer trip. Well past leaving time really but so many commitments this summer and a supplier sending me wrong parts multiple times has delayed us leaving about a week. Anyway We are leaving Tampa, Fl and are headed out west. We will be crossing...
If you are a side sleeper try the double z from big agnes. I am a sider and big guy. But at 4" thick it does not bottom out for hips and shoulders. I use a buffalo park bag and a cot. Will post pics soon
Ok so i have alot of chairs. Helinox arb cheap quads blur ridge etc. For the past year I have been using this crazy tripod from Bass Pro. $18 and best chair ever. Everything that is wrong with a quad style chair this is right. Quads promote bad posture almost all recline to much for eating at a...
For our grill I run. Weber Q1200 in conjunction with a lodge chiefs platter. I can 90% of our meals on this combo. It is currently complimented by a colman 2 burner stove but since all I ever do is boil on it I am looking at other options. Oh i also run a lodge dutch oven.
