My best suggestion is to start with the bare minimum to get yourself out there camping, and see what you specifically need. For example, I would love to get a ham radio installed, but for now I have absolutely no need for one since no one else I go out with has one, whereas someone else on here...
Yeah I had the 15 as my only vehicle, but then needed something more commuter friendly. Sold that for a Subaru Legacy, and then 8 months later picked up an 05 and kept the Subaru as a DD. It's really nice having a second car to make runs to the parts store and stuff.
OP, this is one seriously bad ass Subaru! I have a 2015 Legacy as my DD, which is essentially the same thing in sedan version. These truly are great and reliable cars! My in-laws have an outback, so I'm going to show them some pics of yours. Anyways, I look forward to seeing what else is in store.
Judging by the reviews, these things are fantastic. Thanks for posting this! I amazlyzed the reviews at fakespot.com, and it checks out.

x2 on this. It makes your tires less susceptible to puncture as it'll flex more over objects. It also provides more traction, as well as soaks up bumps a whole lot better. I have a viair 88p and it's the best bang for the buck compressor you can get. I can fill up my 33" tires in about 10 min...
Ha, I feel the same way!!
I removed my sway bar on my 2005 Tacoma when I installed my lift a couple weeks ago. I definitely notice the increased body roll, but this isn't my DD so I'm not too worried about it as it behaves much better off road and soaks up bumps a lot better. I'd love a QD...
x2 on the plano cases. Having handled both Plano and Pelican cases, the Pelicans are made a lot better, but the Plano is a solid budget minded option. Lockable, and still watertight. I used their rifle cases for gear.
It's utterly bonkers how well they hold their value, but good deals do come along. I picked up my 2005 with 165k miles on it for $9.5k. Has a brand new frame replaced under recall along with a bunch of other new goodies. While 9.5k sounds like a fair price, this truck should have sold for...
Just got the truck a couple months ago, but already putting it to use! Here's the first camping trip.
And here's how it sits currently. Just picked up the cap the other day, so I'm going to be building a sleeping platform in the back shortly.
Hopefully my region falls into the former of the two choices. If I'm gonna be sitting around drinking beer, I'd rather do it around a campfire! Luckily my area is pretty active with meet-ups on TW, so hopefully that's the case here as well.
Hey guys! I'm very active on TW, but thought I'd hop over here to broaden my knowledge base. I'm currently building up my 05 Tacoma to be pretty self capable. Wouldn't consider it overlanding per say, but whatever you want to call it, it's a heck of a lot of fun! Here's the most current picture...
