All great info! I live in Alberta so I'm very close to bear territory. I make sure to take some sort of repellent whether it's spray or audible bear bangers.
:smilecat: I would love to say I did something awesome and aesthetically pleasing to my unit today, but instead I ordered up a drop in K&N air filter and got light bar brackets. I'm still in the works of trying to get a snorkel but I may be out of luck with my type of vehicle.
Hey all!
I do believe I belong on this thread.:smilecat:
I have a 2017 Chevy Trax. Its about the same size as a Suby Crosstrek or Jeep Renegade.
I'm still in the works of building and setting up the interior. This is also my daily driver so I have a bit of a challenge with making everything work...
Howdy fellow Canadian and welcome!
Glad to see another chevy overlander! Don't forget to check out the forums regions to find more overlanders in your area and meet ups.
These guys are super helpful!
Cheers!
I noticed you have a roof basket (as do I).
One option for us would be a cable alarm. I have been thinking of that option for a while. That way if someone is messing around with your stuff and the cable is bumped a loud alarm goes off. Then in hopes you hear it and/or it scares the thief.
I am also curious to know what people recommend!
I'm quite worried about my RRT getting stolen because we all know they cost an arm and a leg.
I do have a chevy with onstar so if I ever have a break in I am notified directly via cell and satellite connection so I'm not to terribly worried about...
Like many people in this topic, both.
I work at a Motorsport Dealership and we recommend and sell both to atv/utv travellers.
Cables are cheap and a good start, but if your alone a pack is perfect!
I've heard many great things about the MR Buddy system.
In Canada it gets well below freezing!
So with my budget i just picked up a heated blanket for temporary use until i buy a heater.
I used it once already in my RTT in Banff on a -16 Celsius night. Worked perfect ontop of my sleeping bag...
I'm a new member and also super late to this thread, but I'm a fellow vegan overlander and Canadian!
I'm hoping to document some recipes this summer to share with you guys.
Cheers!
