Kent, call me in the morning after you are rolling, and you know your aprox. ETA to the trailhead. We are planning to be on the road at 6 AM should be able to get to the trailhead by noon. Michael 818 612 8842, Fe 818 535 9826.
Hi Tacojon!
I too have a almost stock Tacoma, and I have signed up for the Laurel Lakes trip. It would be a nice plan if you were to also go, we could meet up and attempt the trail together and if we can't make it we could find another place to hang for the weekend. plenty of places up there...
Hi Kent! Thanks for picking a place closer to us this time. :)
If the road has degraded to a point that a stock Tacoma can't make it, at least Tacojon and I will be in the same boat and we could find an alternative Camp for the weekend.
Wildland Fire Air Quality Map.
It can change with the wind, but for today, the air is excellent in Tahoe.

Not much, cell phone on At&t, and a 22 channel hand-held walky-talkie. They are good for about a mile or so unless there’s a tree in the way.
Once we get to Bear Lake, should be good enough.
Hi Kent,
Thanks for doing this!
We are coming up from LA on 395. We will leave Thursday evening get as far north as we can, and hunker down for the night. If all goes well we might get to Bear Lake by noon.
Please don’t tell anyone this: We are both very excited! :)
