The family and I made a day trip through the "4x4 Stampede Pass" track that I found on these forums. We were able to enjoy some great scenery, scout out some potential camp sites, and we even walked over to what remains of Lester, WA.

I'm a new member looking for some trails or routes to drive around on in the Houston area. I'm going to head up to the Sam Houston National Forest tomorrow and see what literature they have and what kinds of fees/permits are need to roll around there.
