The 3.0L is a great motor, you should be seeing 30+mpg on the highway if driving conservatively. The T1s are very capable trucks in stock form, my advice is to just get out and use it. My '18 Silverado on a mountain biking trip from Nashville to Sedona

We made it to the top of house mountain this afternoon, got here right at dark and are camping at the peak for the night. I drug the bike rack on a few of the drainage ditches, but other than that didn't really have any problems getting up. Super fun trail, till about the last 2 miles and all...

I can't get over how much I love this propane pit. It's instant on, no chopping/ finding wood, and can be turned up or down as needed.

Pretty rudimentary here. I just throw all my junk up there and ratchet strap it down. Currently have a predator 2000 watt generator, portable gas fire pit, propane tank for said fire pit, and a 10ft awning.

We'll be in Amarillo tonight, then are heading to Sedona for a few days. After that we're going to make our way north and east ending in Albuquerque on the 4th.

I did manage to snap a picture of our pantry. Set up behind the driver seat, enough food and snacks for a couple weeks on the road.

The plan is to go straight into Sedona and hang out there a few days, then maybe a day checking out Flagstaff.

I love mountain biking, backpacking, and motorcycle camping. But bike packing has never appealed to me for some odd reason. I think I fear I would lose too much playfulness on the bike and it would feel to much like work instead of a mountain bike ride.

Well I was planning on getting some pictures of our setup and packing strategy, but it was pisspouring rain while we were packing this morning so I'll have to get some pics from the road. T minus 16 hours till we hit the road.

Figured I would start somewhat of a log of our upcoming trip. Leaving Friday (12/21) for a 17 day road trip/adventure out west starting in TN. We will be mainly staying in our '18 Silverado with camper top and sleeping setup, with a few hotel stays mixed in as well. Our two dogs Frank and Clover...
