Crosstrek was written off when I got t-boned and rolled in May 2019. Bought a 2014 Cherokee Trailhawk and sold that this year. Went the low-tech route and picked up a cherry-condition 98 Jeep TJ Sport. Best part is, no more car loans.
Couldn't be happier!

Don't use it much of late, but when I do, it chugs right along. On occasion, it failed to connect to the app, or the app won't connect to the smoker. Usually a reboot of the phone sorts it out. Although it's only a minor inconvenience to get up and go look at the smoker lol. The only other issue...
Nah, just a standard class III hitch. My plate is blocking the tire carrier itself. I actually was looking for a specific part and Google led me to an Outback Forum for my answer. 41 pages long, loaded with pics and ideas...
I just got a set of Cooper Discoverer AT3 4S tires on stock wheels on our 2013. 215/65R17 with only minimal trimming of the plastic in front of the rear tires. No lift yet (it's still in the mail system somewhere). About 3/8" clearance in front now without any lift...
Thanks! Yeah, we were constantly worried about potential mechanical issues rearing their head while out exploring. With the lack of available parts (or Monteros in general) here in Canada, we felt the prudent choice was to buy something with substantial parts availability.
Honestly we're stoked...
Hey all. Former GM 3/4 ton truck, former Montero owner. Now we recently picked up a 2013 Crosstrek. I actually follow a few of you folks on IG (my username here is the same on IG).
We're really enjoying the Subaru. Best fuel mileage compared to anything I've ever owned with 4 wheels... Longest...
We enjoyed ourselves. Thanks for putting this together. Was good to meet you all. Refilled our coffee, gassed up at Costco and we were home by quarter to 12. Regret not grabbing a pic of the crew... Next time is always an option, preferably on a trail lol.
Hey, John from the FB thread. Already indicated we'll be there. Wife is looking forward to it. We're heading out to the Last Chance saloon (near Drumheller) on Wednesday the 18th to check things out...off topic, sorry. Looking forward to the 27th
All good. At least by that point, my work schedule should be confirmed. (It's currently in flux at work with guys switching positions, promotions, etc).
I guess the Canadian leg kick-off is a ballpark date lol. Baby is your deciding factor there hahaha. Looks like a great route. Farthest I've been that far north in BC was Fort St John, Terrace and Prince George. But they we hotshot deliveries so I didn't get a chance to explore the areas...
Mounted our 270° awning on the right side and our lockable shovel/axe bracket on the rear of the roof basket yesterday.

Nice! We haven't decided on a lift yet, if we even need it (we've only had it since Sept).
Gotta love buying someone else's problems eh? We had to replace the transmission and harmonic balancer shortly after buying. Worth it. These are awesome vehicles. There's a huge group of Mitsubishi...
