You can do it! Is it a time constraint? I'm basically setting aside a full day of travel to get there, and a full day of travel to get home. Leaving early Sunday morning and back to work Monday.

The Hershey store is pretty cool. I like to sample stuff before it hits retailers. I'm a graphic designer on the eCommerce team. I WISH I was doing more web-based design/UX/UI stuff, but that's not part of my job duties here.

From what I remember from last year, there are no fire pits. At least I didn't see any. However the FAQ's state otherwise. I'd plan on not having access to a fire pit. Info pulled from Overland Expo East FAQ's: All camping spots are on a first come basis. Groups are welcome to stake out their...

If we're saving camping space, I'm thinking we're going to have to establish camp somewhere on the perimeter of the field. I thought the moto camping area was probably the nicest in that it had some tree cover. A head count would be helpful, and to know what kind of camping space everyone is in...

I believe only vendors and staff are able to camp before Friday.

@outwardbound Sounds good. I have a late shift Thursday. But early shifts Friday and Saturday. I'd like to get there and have camp setup around dinner time as well. Hence the early departure time. My estimates put me in Winchester, Virginia around 7am if I leave Harrisburg at 5am. My volunteer...

I know I'll need to stop probably twice for fuel and bio-break. My pup is riding shotgun too so he'll need to stretch. My recent travels to Oliver Springs, Tennessee was about the same distance. I left Harrisburg at 5am and pulled into camp around 4:15pm. I met up with someone in WV and we...

@Chris Jones @outwardbound @Wawa Skittletits I live 5 minutes off I81 in Harrisburg, PA. I'm scheduled to volunteer/work Thursday afternoon for setup. Would love to head down with you guys and camp with the OB crew. Keep me posted on possible rendezvous times. Biltmore is 526 miles (8 hours)...

    Rain Gear Suggestion?

That Guidewear looks pretty nice. I just ordered the Frogg Toggs River Toadz jacket for $15.98. Half of what Amazon is selling it for. I just hope that I don't have zipper issues which I read in the reviews.

    Rain Gear Suggestion?

The zipper on my Frogg Toggs top broke leaving just a small nib to grab with my fingers. Maybe I just replace my top. Though the reviews I'm reading are that many people are experiencing broken zippers. Another complaint I have with the Frogg Toggs is that the jacket doesn't pull tight around my...

    Rain Gear Suggestion?

I have some Frogg Togg rain gear that I've owned for about 8 years and I'm thinking of getting some new gear. I just got back from the Appalachian Toyota Roundup in Tennessee where it rained for 3 days. What are your suggestions for rain gear (pants/jacket)?

    Overland Expo - East

Probably around 5am. It's roughly 526 miles and 7.5-9 hours via I81 without stops or BRP.

    Overland Expo - East

I'm coming from Harrisburg, PA. I'm 5 minutes from I81. I was on the BRP yesterday on my way back from the Appalachian Toyota Roundup in Tennessee. Only for about 50 miles or so, north of Roanoke, VA. I needed to get back on the highway to make some time. lol

Cool, thanks for the info. I read that there were some routes being offered to riders that are not "official" TAT routes. It looks like this information is not directly related to the TAT, but may still be helpful for those of us who are not really close to the TAT, but still would like to...

    Crazy Appalachia Idea.

I'm in Harrisburg, PA with a good bit of knowledge of what's here in central PA. Michaux State Forest is located in the southern portion of the Pennsylvania and offers some dirt roads from route 34, west and south into Maryland. A lot of our mountain ranges seem to run east/west, and as such a...
