    Start with a ‘salvage’?

Sounds like a good idea and a way to save some money. Then you'll have more for building what you want.

What did you get for christmas?

I put my 10 year old yellow Lab Max to sleep on the 27th of last month. My 8 month old chocolate is snoring away with his head in my lap as I'm typing. Max

    Old Vehicles.

I was a GM guy growing up so I had 292 I-6's and 305 V-6's GMC motors along with one 401 V-6. I had a lot of buddys that liked Fords and ran the I-6 300's I don't remember them having too many problems with them. I also had a neighbor with 2 slant 6 Dodge Pick-ups we used to kid him about the...

    Your one "must have"

I agree but a tow chain, strap and winch are ALWAYS in my Willys, a full tank of gas isn't.

    Your one "must have"

A full tank of gas. I can't tell you how many times in the last 45-50 years I've run across someone out of gas, usually because they didn't fill up before they went out. Water is the next thing.

Tents and why you purchase them?

I've had a lot of tents over the years from a tube tent to the Cabelas Alaskan Guide 8 man tent I have now. I've been using it for 12 years now and it's hands down the best tent I've ever owned. It's big, heavy and takes a little bit to set it up but once it's up it awesome. I camped in 10...

What overlanding vehicle is shown on the cover of the "vanlife diaries" book?

Yup, you're right I was typing Club Van and added the cab for some reason, crew cab was for the 4 door pick-ups. One last revision Ford Club Wagon not Club Van.

    Old Vehicles.

I had a 59 GMC Carryall with a 401 V-6 in it. I was a BIG 1 ton 4wheel drive, had barn doors in the back and was a US Govt survey truck. It was 10 1/2 feet from the back of the front seat to the back doors. It was stolen by my ex-partners druggy son, I wish I still had it.

Yup, it's another suspension question. But I desperately need your thoughts!

The right gearing for the tires and terrain you want to run in will make a big difference. OME makes good stuff and I think it's worth the money. A little more information would be great. What transmission do you have, what gear ratio do you have? It's hard to help with no info.
