I’ll show off my junk. 2005 2500 spent the first few years of its life getting upgraded to run a little bit better. Currently in the 550-600 horsepower range. Did the lift and tires at 2 weeks old.
After a ride in the way back machine here it is. Right after I got the first camper shell...
When you swap the front axle unless you use the jeep Dana 44 you'll have to outboard your front springs. Generally your front spring perches are cast in on the pumpkin side. For example my springs were 28 inches apart and a full width Dana 60 from a 78-79 ford has perches 32 inches apart. My...
The th400 Dana 300 would be pretty bullet proof. knowing more about what you're doing I can tall you I would not soak the money into the front Dana 30 to do a disc conversion. I would seriously look at swapping both axles. Dana 44s front and rear will work good as long as you are not crawling...
80-86 cjs had the Dana 300 t case. It shouldn't be hard to find one. Junkyards or Craigslist even jeep forums. If you were around Nevada I have the one out of my jeep I'd be willing to part with. The ford 8.8 is about 6 inches wider I do believe. The 1000 dollar question is what are you using...
White outs on narrow switchback ledge roads. I was watching a deer herd away from my truck one hunting season when it started snowing. Before I could get to my truck it was coming down hard. Ground was covered by the time I got there and got the truck pointed downhill. I was trying to beat the...
I know your post is a couple of weeks old but I love to talk jeeps and mods for them. If it was my jeep I would not mess with the quadra trac. I would find a Dana 300 t case. It can be found cheap and rebuilt for very little. They are truly great transfer cases plus you'll never stretch a chain...
51 gallons of diesel in the back of my truck at all times. Gives me a 1600 mile range before I need to find fuel. Needless to say I've never been in danger of running out.
Not sure about your vehicle but my dodge has a big opening in the front bumper. Fits a 22 inch light bar. Another thing to think about is getting a light bar that switches from white light to amber. If you ever been on a sketchy trail at night ina snow storm you'll find that white led light...
I carry a buck rush assisted opening knife every day. That little knife has cleaned and quartered more game than I care to remember. 2 years ago I shot a cow elk a half mile from my truck and pack, which has several knives in it. The little buck knife skinned and quartered that entire cow. I'd...
I would eat it again. Not sure I'd trade elk for but definitely would swap deer and antelope. even in warmer temps I would have to try. Couldn't be any worse than an August game hunt in Nevada.
I'm a mechanic. There isn't much I can't do to my own vehicle. My problem is not having enough time to devote to my projects. I've posted pictures of my jeep project. I have just about everything I'll need to do a 12 valve swap in my 79 bronco. And I also have a 71 bronco that I'm trying to get...
High lift jack for me. Too many uses to not have with me at all times. I've used it as intended plus as a winch a time or two. Even used it a time or two to keep a tire and broken axle in the axle housing until I could get to a safe enough place to do the repairs.
I don't own a gun to kill people.
I own a gun to keep from being killed.
I don't carry a gun to scare people.
I carry a gun because sometimes this world can be a scary place.
I don't own a gun because I'm paranoid.
I own a gun because there are real threats in the world..
I don't own a...
We got to take my nephews and my buddy's son and daughter for a short day trip this weekend. Kinda had a few problems. Her hand got a throttle blister and my buddy ended up on his daughters quad while she rode with me for a while. The baby rzr lost a fuel pump. Had to tow my 8 year old nephew...
Where I live I can ride from my house and go for days at a time. I will have to get my camera out as these are some of the only pictures I have on my phone of my side by side. From my house it's possible for me to ride clear to Oregon and Idaho. I know I can make Utah if I tried. Here it is...
Thanks. Specs on it are vortec 350, 4l60e trans, stak 3 speed t case, full width ford dana 60 and 14 bolt rear with 4.88s and Yukon lockers. With all the money I have in this one I probably should've just bought a rubicon.
Here's what my jeep is looking like. Not really much jeep left to it anymore except frame and body. But one day soon it will be my main overlanding vehicle.
