With all the room you have I’d look into a real on board air system. A couple of solar panels up top to keep the house battery up to snuff. That’s a sweet set up.
That is a clean looking swap. I love the aggressive stance it ended up with. It’s gonna be a monster with 40s under it. Never played with a Nissan before. Is there a way to do a gear drop for the t-case? Or is that something you are even considering?
I was elk hunting several years ago. Found an amazing series of drainages. Would walk one out return to my truck move on to the next. Grab a few hours sleep under the shell and repeat. Did this for a couple of weeks. When I got home I started researching a few things to make the next trip a...
I’ve done more over landing to fish than I’ve ever dreamed of for hunting. I have spent a lot of time sturgeon fishing, chasing steelhead and hitting trout opener when I was going to Oregon all the time. Now most of my trips are finding places to throw flies at trout. I have yet to fly fish for...
I would want it on mine as well. But if I was putting it together for someone else I probably wouldn’t add it. I could see somebody accidentally bumping that switch. Then when nothing works they would tear things apart before remembering to check the tent switch.
Yeah. Like I said I got excited by the problem. There’s something wrong with me that I love 12 volt electrical problems. I didn’t realize that over riding everything from the tent was a feature that was wanted. I got a head of myself before I read everything. One day I’ll get control of my adhd.
I know I’m probably way late, but...It could be done without diodes. You just needed 3 relays. I got excited about the problem and drew the diagram before I realized this was a month old. Maybe somebody else can use it.
Congrats on the jeep and welcome to the jeep life. Warning - it’s going to be addicting and expensive. Now the most important piece of advice I can offer: go have fun. Take a day trip or ten. Get to know what you and you’re jeep are capable of. Don’t let it get to where it’s more about what you...
That is a sweet looking set up. Can I make one suggestion on your trailer? Convert your axles to the same bolt pattern as your truck. I’m converting my old willys trailer to run an 8 lug pattern with 35x12.50s on it. If things get bad I have a couple of extra tires to depend on. Again sweet build.
BFG ko2s are hands down the best tire I have ever owned. I ran open country mt on my dodge - they drowned out the 5 inch exhaust. The more they wear the louder they get. The jury is still out on the ridge grapplers. They are quiet and ride smooth but don’t clean out very good. They aren’t overly...
I can’t fit fit a 35 under my dodge with the 5 inch exhaust. And after this weekend my spare tire crossmember will be repurposed as a 3rd battery and air compressor brackets. Need to get started on my swing out rear plate bumper.
I am also sorry about your loss. I agree with taking the time to figure out what you do and do not need. And definitely find exactly what you are looking for. I’ve been over landing the same simple set up for 15 years. I have a truck, shell, a small trailer, and some tools for living in in the...
