Added a front runner awning and a swing arm mount so I can rotate the awning to the back of the truck to shade the tailgate. Also still allows my ram box to open.
I put some cans up on my bed rack, but still doesn't compare having the built in tanks the diesels can get. I would pay big money for one of the aftermarket tank companies to do something for our gas trucks.
Exactly, I have a M&P compact I carry most of the time. For a vehicle or OWB there is no reason not to go with a full size with extra capacity and a longer barrel.
I swap out my M&P compact and M&P full size sometimes during the winter. That's when I can carry my full size OWB in a plain kydex...
I do not have any long guns I keep in my truck 24/7. I do take a long rifle or my pistol caliber carbine with me depending on what I'm doing that day. I will be camping this coming weekend and the below will be next to me as I sleep on my cot.
Finally got around to fabbing this up. Priorities for me:
1. A secured mount that will stay in place in the event of an accident or rough trails.
2. Quick access for my dedicated truck gun. While keeping some level of concealment from passerby’s.
3. Works with my Safari Land QLS mount/holster...
Yes, but when I priced 2 quality jerry cans and mounts the price difference was minimal. Then you add in the fact that the Front Runner setup holds more water than 2 jerry cans and has a hose attachment.
At least that's how I justified it in my head :tonguewink:
I just ordered their 6ft...
Matt,
Thank you for the update. If you don’t mind I will probably still attend if nothing pops up on my schedule. I may bring my 19 year old son as well.
I also forgot to mention.
I split my sidewall on my 35s. Just a surface cut in the rubber so I'm sure any other tire would have done the same. Cords are fine and still holds air. If I was not aired down it might have cut all the way through.
I'll vulcanize it and trade it out with my spare.
This is what's known as "Castle Creek Road to Cleator". I'd rate it Moderate High depending on what paths you take. High ground clearance and 4wd would be fine here. Anything beyond that just makes it much easier. Wider vehicles be aware of the drop offs and small wash outs on the edges...
Another take away from this since it was a group of people.
If it's legal in your state make sure you have adequate capacity magazines. I swap magazines out depending on how and where I'm carrying. I have a compact and full size gun that shares mags. Some of the full size mags also have...
Thank you for sharing that story!
Where I'm at, it's assumed that everyone is carrying. The first week I moved here I saw a mountain lion running from tree line to tree line. I have a feeling he was following me for awhile.
I always have a gun on me and a dedicated handgun that stays in the truck that's easier to get to than the one in my waistband while driving.
Depending on where I'm going that day I also carry one of the below. The CZ Scorpion folds up nicely and makes a good backpack gun. So glad I made the...
I'm looking to do a similar electrical setup on my PW. I want to try and store the battery and/or invertor in one of my ram boxes. Have you thought about adding solar for when the truck is not running?
