sliding around in muddy ruts seems like a situation where beadlocks could save some headaches...you may not be wheeling hard, but a sideways slide into a rut wall could be enough to pop that bead loose
the brand new rotopax I had no issue with, however, I picked up two from CBI when I got my bumper that were discounted from the factory and those are the two I had issues with.
most people I talk to have never had issues with them, but I always warn people to check before laying flat...
interesting point you brought up about running the run flat in addition to the beadlock to help prevent the situation you ran into in mexico. that will be a nice comforting feeling on all future adventures for sure!
if I can fit it into the budget, beadlocks on my rig is high on my list. it's...
very nice. make sure to test for leaks before laying sideways.. I had two that would not seal properly luckily my primary mounting was always on the side of my bed rack. I would have to make sure those were not filled to the top so when gas sloshed around, it didn't leak into my bed.
yes st johns is a nice one for sure. we also checked out hunkidori mine on that day. you can link that over to the swan river trails which drop you into Breckenridge as well. and if you wanted to keep going, you can hop onto Georgia pass over to 285. lots of ways to link together long days...

there's some nice trails from central city north to Lyons that are friendly to stock'ish builds. do yourself a favor and venture past the popular yankee hill...I...
Canon Rebel T1i then Canon 60D. Since sold both setups and now have a Sony a6000 (secondary) and Sony A7ii (primary).
the switch to the small Sony's have been great so far and loving the full frame A7ii except I've had to keep an eye on the sensor cleanliness as it seems more debris gets in...
if you can get a wavian with the old spout, that's a good setup. luckily I bought a few before the new spout design and they fit the current cans still. new spout is a PITA!
