Finally got my hands on a rooftop tent and got it installed today! Did a couple of practice runs setting up and tearing down - those annex’s are no joke!
Hi, i noticed your profile photo in another thread and was hoping I could ask you a bit about your vehicle? My wife has a Subaru forester and she would like to do some overlanding in it. Do you have a thread where you've posted everything that you have done to your vehicle? I would love to be...
There's a pretty nifty shop in Washington state called Das Mule; one finances allow for it, I plan to take my truck to them to let them install an air compressor so that I can deflate/inflate my wheels when needed. Not sure if I should do that before or after I save up the cash to add the rear...
That's a legit setup! Just got my first RTT from roofnest; got damaged in the shipping, unfortunately, but it was just the bottom side.
Anywho - I've been looking at the Range DFM disabler for my 2019 Silverado. It already has 30,000+ miles on it - was just wondering if it would be worth the...
I refuse to let this thread go gently into the good night, lol.
Anyone running AFM/DFM disablers on their Silverados? I'm curious as to what the consensus is amongst the Overland community.
Hey, I’m late to seeing this it welcome! I, too, have a 2WD Chevy that I’m slowly outfitting to get the family into overlanding! Looking forward to seeing what you do!
My chevy! Wife took me up a mountain trail near where she grew up we were able to go up quite a ways, but the narrow the roads got and the looser the rocks became, we decided to turn around. We’ve got quality tires but this baby doesn’t have a lsd or rear locking diff yet
Very, cool congratulations! I’ve been looking at overland style trailers all year, but like you said price is definitely a factor in the decision. Looked at the dominator series for awhile - hope you share your experiences with it soon!
Would love to get in on this as my wife and kids are going out of state this weekend. I wouldn't be able to leave until Friday afternoon, though, and being this new into overlanding I haven't quite figured out what to do with both of my dogs.
Hey everyone,
So like the title suggests, I have a 2019 Silverado 1500 that's 2WD. I was averaging close to 20.9 mpg just going from work to home. After I installed a leveling kit on the front, I slapped on some Goodyear All-terrain Tires that are 265/70R17 (I think on the 70 part; I kept the...
Hey fellas,
Just wanted to comment and say how happy I am to see other people using their Silverado’s as OB rigs. I picked up a barebones 2019 RWD 1500 that I plan on turning into a quality OB rig over the next few years. You guys are my inspiration to make it happen! Right now all I’ve done is...
@RickR my wife and I were looking into some of hte off road trailers such as Expidition 2.0 and the Opus 4. After toying around with fginances we realized we need to wait until spring of next year before we can realistically pull the trigger and get one.
@RickR thanks for the welcome, Rick! I've been to San Antonio once before when I was kid. How's the overlanding down in your parts? Growing up I spent a lot of time in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. As far as Texas goes, that's probably my favorite city.
