I just got the Challange Coins, with my member number, and I have this idea to create a Geocache with location clues in the Overland Bound Forums. This would enable other OB members to go on a little treasure hunt. I will include a Challenge Coin and instructions on how to contact me via the...
I looked here but do not see where anyone is actively updating anything. I do see that people may be putting updates on Instagram using the #nmbdr tag. I am going to keep an eye on that to see if anyone is currently on the trail and what they are posting.
I'm afraid that does not have any information for smaller roads. It is a good start but I may just have to see how far we get on the roads once we get there. Thanks for the help!!
I am looking for a source for road conditions on the backroads of Southeastern New Mexico. My son and I are going to take off to run the first part of the New Mexico Backcountry Discovery Route (NMBDR). Problem is, the area around Cloudcroft and Ruidoso have gotten some snow and I am not sure of...
I am wanting to get some sliders and I was thinking I would have to build my own. I will be interested in seeing how yours turn out and if Mercenary is willing to make another pair.
I had better luck finding 17" tires in a pinch than with my current 18". I've had to locate tires twice while on trips and the tire shops in small towns don't always have a matching tire. That is probably just my experience but it might be the norm.

This is Scout. Named after my favorite childhood adventurer from To Kill a Mockingbird and for the fact that we like to look for adventures of our own.
Good afternoon. I was reading through one of your posts and it starts with a side picture of your KLR650. I need a new front fairing for mine and I am wondering if you would mind sharing where you got yours and how you like it? Thanks, - Matt L.
My Father is from Lakeview, TX, down the road from Memphis. One of his classmates owns the church that was set up as a restaurant. We are there several times each year and we have explored many of the local backroads. Do you have any info on good areas to check out?
I installed the 2.5 in lift back in December. I planned to add a winch bumper so I went with the extra 1/2 inch to allow for the weight of the new bumper. I have now decided to hold off on the bumper so the extra height is not necessary. That being said, a 2" lift would have been better since...
I did. We took a lifted Ram 2500, a new unmodified Jeep Cherokee trail hawk, and my F150 down Glenn Springs Rd and across Black Gap. Then we turned around and went back the same way. We had our first ever trail side tire repair in the 20+ years we have been doing this. Tire repair was on the...
We made it to BBNP for Thanksgiving. It was more crowded than I think I have ever seen it. Way more people in the back country.
We saw two bears while hiking. They where no more than 20 yards from us.
