Great trip report and I always love the pictures. We did Corkscrew Gulch during the July 4th weekend a few years ago and it was wonderful. There were way too many UTVs on the trails, but it was still amazing. We even got to go snow sledding near Hurricane Pass.
Thanks for sharing! - Matt L.
I have the paper maps but also checked the forest service resources before I left. I understand proper road use, just have not disperse camped on BLM land. I wanted to be sure I was not mistakenly camping on private or restricted property. It all worked out great and I found a really nice and...
This was great help. Ranger station in Cloudcroft was closed, so I asked a lady at the local outdoor shop for suggestions and she pointed out a road I could find some good campsites. My site was fantastic. Thanks for your help!!
Would you mind sharing the location of your day three campsite. I am headed in that direction tomorrow morning and I need a place to stay for a few days.

I am not sure where I am going. Hopefully I can find a place near Cloudcroft, with a view, to camp. I am not exactly sure how BLM camping works but I guess I am about to find out.
Sorry for the late reply. Yes, your truck can make it easily, minus any technical problems, of course. The only non-maintained road is Black Gap, and you can make that one too.
If you already went, I hope your trip was great.
We are in San Antonio at Fiest Texas, then Houston on Thanksgiving day and it was hot. However, while I was away from home there was a rare snowfall in Midland. Of course it was gone before noon, as usual.
Oh man, that sounds great. The Hot Springs and Old Ore are a long drive from Starlight but always well worth the trip.
I like the color of your Jeep, by-the-way.
I guess by now you are in the Big Bend area. Give us a report and some pics so I can live through you while I sit behind this computer all day. :disappointed:
Oh man, that's so cool!! I love that you upgraded and put it back. I guess you are now the owner of the first Geocached Ambassador Coin. Thanks so much for letting us know you found it. I look forward to seeing how others join in. - Matt L.
