Having done the drive both directions now in different rigs... my advice, drive whatever you can afford. We tented 95% of the nights on the southbound trip. When we did it northbound years earlier, we camped inside vehicles and/or hoteled it. Both offer unique experiences and I'd repeat in...
So things haven't been completely peaches and cream. After a 5k mile trip down and up the Baja Peninsula she started to protest. I suppose I should be thankful they all happened within a few hours of home rather than the bottom of Baja? First up was a dead battery in the Swell during the Outlaws...
Life has been busy, that is good for business and adventures but bad for making progress on the 200 and thus the old 100 has still been seeing the bulk of the trail duty this past spring and early summer. Then the revolt came. Prep of Monica (the Canguro Racing 200 Series) was already deep under...
Camping sites in American Fork Canyon are closed for the winter. The entire North Fork is gated at Tibble Fork (snowmobile only beyond gate) and rhe loop road is closed above South Fork, all of the improved camping in the lower Canyon are closed for the season.

This episode marks the end of the road (figuratively and literally) for the Expedition Overland Season 3 and our PanAmerican Highway endeavor, having now traversed Prudhoe Bay, Alaska to Ushuaia, Argentina. The ending in Ushuaia was bittersweet, while we accomplished what we had set out to do a...
Episode 11 is now on YouTube and marks the 2nd to last episode for this season. We do a super rare offroad crossing from Chile into Argentina that sees just a handful of vehicles each year. I hope you enjoy it!
Next week is the season finale and I hope to see some of you at the season finale...

The latest episode of our South America adventure is now on YouTube. In this episode we visit the magnificent Salar de Uyuni and prep for the voyage beyond.

Just to add a bit of clarity about how and what the routes look like that were lost with the GSENM. Horse Canyon is a fantastic example. It was open in it's entirety (13 miles) pre-GSENM. With the creation of the monument, charter docs have them closing it "administratively" in 1996? when they...
A. The Land does not belong to the State of Utah, no more today than 50 years go. It simply reverts back to the sample BLM and FS that would have or did manage the monuments. What this does is change the management directive for the land.
This is not de facto bad for the overland community and...
