    Power Wagon Registry

Alright Chris, the tent is mounted! There's some more photos on Facebook. Once I get the awning done I'll take some better photos (hopefully in the wild somewhere) and do a more detailed write up. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Power Wagon Registry

Here's how it looks so far. The tent will come to the outside edge of the blue tape and the awning will span the two longer outside bars. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Power Wagon Registry

Ha, yep.. the rock rails help for climbing up to access the roof but it's still tall! I gave up on indoor parking of any kind a long time ago, I'm pretty sure the RTT is going to bring my overall height to 8'6"... on 35s and stock suspension.

    Power Wagon Registry

Nice! I think I paid $400 for the initial tracks, and pair of towers/bars when I ordered the cap. Now I'm trying to mount the tent, so I spent another $375 on another pair of bars and mounts, that gives me 4x 48" cross bars to support the tent, but the tent is 55" wide and sits directly on top...

I used to think the front runner prices were insane, but now I'm trying to mount a RTT and awning to the Yakima system and it's costing a fortune... now I can see the value in a real rack. Sent from my iPhone using OB Talk

    Power Wagon Registry

I have the Yakima Tracks, Pads, Towers, and Crossbars on my cap, but I do not like the way their 'off the shelf' product connects to the cab (Q towers, I believe). If I were to do anything on the cab, I would start with drilling the roof for rivnuts and mounting the Yakima Tracks, and build...

    ARB Awning 1250 Installation Questions

Hey @COharbinger, since you're running a basket you should be able to use the ARB Universal Awning Bracket with U-bolts on the top rail of the basket that runs parallel to the awning, or there's the FourTreks Modular Awning Mounts. My problem with these brackets is that they can't be used to...

    Power Wagon Registry

Hey Chris! I'm on here too, from time to time anyway. Ran into some OB guys in Death Valley last year and they convinced me to join. You mentioned taking your rig in a new direction, got any plans you wanna share!? I just ordered a bunch of shit, including a James Baroud Explorer RTT...

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, and the tip! Figured I'll order it from REI so I can easily exchange it if there are any problems.

    Jetboil Genesis Base Camp Stove...

Hey @ASNOBODY, have you had a chance to put this stove to use yet? I'm thinking about buying one, but a little put off by all the older reviews about regulator failure, hoping that was an earlier supplier issue that has been resolved. I really like the idea of this stove setup.

Alpine Loop, CO - Memorial Day Weekend (5/27-29)

We drove the Alpine Loop from Silverton out to Engineer Pass and back. As expected, Engineer is still closed, it looks like they had the road plowed of snow but the road collapsed so they're still doing some repairs. We did not circle back and hit the trail west of Engineer, I'll probably go...

Alpine Loop, CO - Memorial Day Weekend (5/27-29)

Yeah, thanks @hallry, they officially opened Cinnamon yesterday and announced that Engineer would not be open until next weekend. We just drove Animas and Cinnamon, may still do it as out and back this weekend, not sur yet. I don't think there's a bypass to do most of the Loop and come back...

    routes in/around Joshua Tree

If I recall correctly, there is no free/dispersed camping allowed in the park, there is BLM land immediately north and south of the park boundary. https://www.campendium.com/joshua-tree-north https://www.campendium.com/joshua-tree-south They're both RV accessible so not a cool remote site, I...

Memorial Day Week Trip - Upper Peninsula

One of my favorite campsites we've every stayed at was at the end of 587 just West of Munising on the lake shore facing Grand Island, there are shelves with shallow water and crystal clear dropoffs to where the water instantly becomes 50' deep. I can't find the exact location and the google...

Alpine Loop, CO - Memorial Day Weekend (5/27-29)

Okay, plans have progressed pretty quickly. We have a group of 5 rigs confirmed for Alpine Loop this Memorial Day weekend... assuming the road actually opens. We'll run the loop from South (Silverton) to North (Ouray) Saturday - Sunday, and then some of us plan for a second overnight on the...

Alpine Loop, CO - Memorial Day Weekend (5/27-29)

It is beautiful here with a little snow on the mountains... not sure that will be ideal on those high shelf roads, summer may be a better time!
