If changing the drum pushes the wheel out too far what wouldn't adding a hub adapter do the same thing? Swapping the drum shouldn't change anything as the 5 and 6 lug should be the same thickness, all you're changing is the number of lugs.

I use at least a quart of Hoppes every year so my bottle isn't even close to being 50. I do however have empty bottles of Hoppes that are that old and maybe older.

Since I'm into comfort camping tases days and I pack all my camping gear in my trailer I use a couple of those 6' plastic tables.
