You told them to put the stickers on their rig, not themselves, right? Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Vehicle shipping (SF to PHX, for Overland Expo West)

I don't know how bad Chicago traffic, but SF / LA generally get rated the worst two cities in the country for traffic. Last year for Off the Grid I tried to drive to Shaver Lake from work (a "four hour drive") at 2PM and it took me three hours just to get past San Jose and out of the "Bay Area"...

Vehicle shipping (SF to PHX, for Overland Expo West)

Flight time SFO to PHX is two hours, and I can leave for the airport less than an hour before departure. So I'd be in PHX in less than three, for almost no dollars since I'd use points. And I could fly the Friday morning of the expo. I did what you describe last weekend for the Mojave run...

Vehicle shipping (SF to PHX, for Overland Expo West)

Might work, let me think about it and PM you. Also ok if you want to PM me a quote. I'm camping at the expo, so I'd need to get the gear down there & half the point of going to the expo is bringing your rig, especially if you're taking the classes. Plus I'd like to hit the Grand Canyon on the...

Mojave Road trip - March 2017

Maybe not for September, we're forgetting just how blessed we were this weekend weather-wise... The "normal" high for September in Laughlin, NV is 104F. The record is 120F. I love the desert too but I've felt 115F and it's like sticking your head in the oven.

Vehicle shipping (SF to PHX, for Overland Expo West)

Does anyone have a vehicle shipping vendor / service in CA they'd recommend? I'm planning to go down to Overland Expo but I'm not sure I can drive down there and back, and take that many days off work. I had been considering paying to have my rig trucked to a friend's house in Phoenix. Has...

Mojave Road trip - March 2017

First of all, thanks to everyone who has added photos - the last time I checked, I think it was over 300!!! I have a minor favor to ask for folks uploading: Please try to be selective (a bit) and especially try to avoid multiple shots that are very similar. With so many images, I don't want the...

Mojave Road trip - March 2017

Honestly, I think I got a tiny bit in through the door seals. It wasn't obvious but we noticed later that some papers lying on the floor were wet. Also possible it came off my boots or from when I opened the door right after crossing. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

I wouldn't sweat it, there will probably be 15 rigs with air compressors. If I'm wrong, you can use mine (but it's small, I only have 31s.)

Mojave Road trip - March 2017

In case anyone else is programming a HAM radio fro the trip, here's a CSV for Chirp that you can copy and paste the frequency list from. I make no promises for its accuracy or function - this is my first time using VHF rather than just FRS - but I figure it will at least save you time...

Probably cb or frs as well I guess, since most folks will be on those. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk

Mojave Road trip - March 2017

I think the main thing is to try to ensure leads have Ham and GPS if possible, tails have some kind of radio. Sent from my Pixel using Tapatalk
