I think most of the ground tents that I've seen that I think I would actually spend money on are made in Australia. And generally not made or sold in the US which is a real shame.
I currently use a 6 person Ozark trail tent from Walmart that I applied Star Brite waterproofing to. It fits 2...
Some time ago I posted a picture of my storage solution using 8 Plano boxes... yeah 8. They break down as follows for 2 adults and 2 kids:
2 boxes for clothing
2 boxes for sleeping bags, air mattresses, air pump and wool blankets
2 dry food storage
1 kitchen and stove
1 miscellaneous (glow...
I think the 171 is my favorite model from R-pod but many other manufacturers have similar builds and layouts now. A co-worker of mine has one and he loves his as well and we have a fellow co-worker with a hummingbird and he loves it as its the same basic design.

You can hit up barrlow jeep rentals to get some good ideas if trails and back roads as well and worst case scenario if they stop you just say your lost they will usually send you in the right direction.

If you hit up Sedona do not forget to get a Redrock pass. The fine for not having one is very expensive but the pass is just a few bucks. I get the year pass just for convenience but I go about 4 time a year.

I've seen those but it won't give me enough lift and they are very pricey. I'm a cheap skate and I love doing fab work but I think I'm going to just leave the suspension as is and eventually upgrade the axle.

Well I'll get pics later but the suspension is welded in I'm currently working on the tongue. And then need to figure out a jack setup for the front and rear along with a rear swing out tire carrier.

Not a bad few days. Was able to spend a little time to get new supports welded in and get the suspension mounts tacked up. Hope to finish this thing up soon and get to work on the tongue, box, water storage, rack, shower system, kitchen.... I better just stop I've got a huge list.

A picture would certainly help. Depending on design and clearance would determine how difficult it would be to add one.

Thanks! Same here. I was messing around in the garage just a little bit ago and now my back is hurting again.

Yeah I've got family that can help also. But I think for now I'm just going to gather parts I could have the trailer kinda done if I had the major components here anyways.

Working on the new suspension. These are rear jeep YJ springs with 4 inches of lift. This setup should be about 6inches higher then the old setup with tires and being loaded. I also took measurements for a 20 gallon underbelly water tank.
But as luck would have it I pulled a few muscles at...
The thing I could think of would be a converted cargo trailer as a base and build it yourself. I have never seen an overlanding type trailer that had a built-in bathroom that I can recall. Or at least one that wasn't Uber expensive.

You have much information left out from your post to help you. First keep in mind torsion axles are none repairable in the field.
Second a solid axle could help protect a water tank if you decide to add one in the future (but so could a skid plate).
Third I would build the trailer and do axles...
Well bought this trailer from a feller in late November as I guess an early Christmas present to myself but seeing as how it's going to be used by the whole family it's not really for me. Anyways got this sucker from offerup for a decent price and as soon as I got it hooked up to my Jeep I...
