Death Valley in late March/early April

It was epic. Three days and hundreds of miles around the park. Weather was great. I have 30 gigs of video I need to edit now. Been so busy with work, no time to edit. Pics and videos will be posted later.

    Jeep JK limb risers

Update: After hundreds of miles in Death Valley, the washboards made me realize I needed to add a jam nut to each turnbuckle. The constant vibration kept backing off the turnbuckles a little, resulting in a loss of cable tension. I had to hand tighten them once per day. A jam nut per turnbuckle...

@Lifestyle Overland good luck with your new adventure. We met at the bottom of Lippincott on 4/7. I stopped you to ask about pass conditions. Thanks for the patch brother. Love your vids. Can't wait to watch your new travels unfold. Be safe.

@TOMB is it open through the canyon, as in from the campground through to Ballarat?

@Etoimos The Darwin Falls secluded camp spot looks cool too. Might go there. Echo canyon looks cool. We'll see.

Bummer, everybody bailed out. I'm still going, if I have to go alone. Not ideal, but I have this weekend book marked for a trip.

It's overkill. Extra 5 gal Jerry can is fine.

Death Valley in late March/early April

@punk my Jeep has a 21 gal tank if I recall. I think I'm good on fuel. Might just go with the 14 gal gas caddy and leave the 5 gal Jerry can at home.

Is it possible to have too much fuel on board? Extra 19 gallons here. Might be too heavy. 14 gallon tank by itself should be good enough. LOL.

Pot committed. I think we might have four to six rigs going. We'll know in a day or so.

Modified Day 1 & 3 from before: 4/7/18 - Day 1 (Ridgecrest to Saline Warm Springs) - Fuel up at Ridgecrest & Olancha https://goo.gl/maps/nSTj53NqyKv 4/8/19 - Day 2 (Saline Warms Springs to Mesquite Springs Campground) - NO FUEL, top off w/ Jerry cans (212 trail miles in between gas stations)...

Death Valley in late March/early April

On day 3, instead up going back north to Stove Pipe Wells, we coud head west from the Ashford Mills ruins. That way, we could see the Warm Springs Camp, the Geoligist's cabin, the Mengel cabin, and Barker Ranch (Charles Manson hideout). It would be the reverse direction of this video:

I'm sure you can figure something out. A few local places sell gas cans. I don't have a great gas can setup either, but that won't stop me from going. I'll figure something out.

Death Valley in late March/early April

Was thinking of starting from the south end in Ridgecrest instead of Big Pine up north. Thoughts on this route plan? 4/7/18 - Day 1 (Ridgecrest to Saline Warm Springs) - Fuel up at Ridgecrest & Panamint Gas https://goo.gl/maps/bGCV1G9mCxn 4/8/19 - Day 2 (Saline Warms Springs to Mesquite...

Death Valley in late March/early April

@levelseventysix from Oakland it's a seven hour drive to Big Pine, which is our starting point. Unfortunately, we can't cut across the Sierras right now due all East/West cross over roads being closed for the winter. Suck. So, we have to all the way around the Sierras. We could go 580E to 5N to...
