Maybe we can link up on the trip. I’m heading out from a more southern route but will be out there the same time and will head back to the Bay Area the same Vegas route.
Heading out Apr 12, coming back around Apr 19. Looking for suggestions as well. It’s Easter Jeep Safari week, so lots of people will be around for sure.
Just a quick thanks for all the comments in this thread. Lots of insight, humor, and plain gut checks here. I made the video for the novice who was going on the three hour tour (Gilligan’s Island) and hadn’t considered what they were getting into. I’m glad to see experienced people contributing...
Thanks for your service. Be safe out there. These are difficult times brother.
On the jack location, it was a compromise. I didn’t want it on the hood for the exact reason you mentioned. I’ve taken enough 11-80s and 11-80 fatals to know better. I put it low, so it would likely end up in the...
We’ll see how far I get into the weeds with it. It should be a series broken into 8-10 min vids really. The skills portion alone could be it’s own series really. I could get too wrapped around the axle on that one, when many excellent people have already done similar content.
As always, thanks...
That was in regard to the five Cs of survivability, what should be in an emergency pack. That in itself was probably too detailed and over the top given the true target audience.
I think I’ll redo the video to be very clear who my target audience is for that vid (the lesser trained, lessor...
I saved a guy and his girfriend in Death Valley last year. They had a flat on a Tacoma and were stuck at the Racetrack. His jack was broken. He didn’t have the tool to lower the spare. No compressed air to pressurize his spare, which was flat. He was screwed, which meant so was his girl. I...
Perhaps a five part series is in order. Good suggestion. This newbie video was more of a gut check for those that really never thought of things in the right way.
My point is you didn’t watch the video before quickly replying. It happens, I get it. It’s all good.
While I was in the service, I trained and deployed with a lot of special units (and I was in one). I kept an open mind and was always picking up new things from others. How to shoot better, how...
It’s not a complete guide but more of a few talking points fot the unprepared person who thought they were prepared. I’m armed and can deal with wildlife and people with hostile intents but that’s beyond the scope of my short video. Make sense?
If you answered that quickly you probably didn’t watch my video. Take the time to give the whole thing a watch. There are some questions in it only you can answer to youself.
In light of recent events in the Bay Area (couple lost in snow), I decided to put this video out there for people to chew on. Talking points if you will. If you’re going off-grid to play, you need to take some precautions. Are you prepared?
This video is the intended for the lesser experienced...
I just did some Googling and I agree with you there are parts out there now for the ZR2. Good to see. It’s not nearly at the support level of Toyota or Jeep but good stuff can be had now. Still recommend a Rubicon over a ZR2, but I’m a little biased there. [emoji3]
