Thanks I appreciate it. The CG was fine. The big thing I came into was I was very cautious on the alpine loop and there was a lot of traffic...nobody else was towing anything out there so everyone was faster than us. No big deal but I was constantly pulling over for people to pass me. I...
Sure. That tent was a James Baroud Space. Since it was eight years old (and had seen a lot of use...zippers were giving me trouble), I replaced it this spring with a Baroud Discovery. Pretty much the same tent, but with 1/2 as many gas shocks and locks. The Discovery is much easier to open and...

I run a Ram Megacab Long Bed. It’s not too heavy or wide or long, you just need to know where you should and shouldn’t go. Maybe push the limits on occasion if you have friends in other rigs to help. You are likely much more comfortable at camp compared to most Jeep setups so it is just a...

I've got a lot of room between my tent and the travel cover. I'm going to add two inches of foam insulation under the mattress. This should help keep the cold below the mattress from getting to me and my travel cover won't flap anymore.

Anyone recognize the suspension on my trailer?
I did not build the trailer (an unknown previous owner did) but was told it is a Ford auto suspension (Escort perhaps?)
I'm...
Hello, Jon in Indianapolis. 2023 Ridgeline (garage queen for now) and a diy overlanding trailer with roof tent. And I already have a question haha! Anyone recognize the suspension on my trailer? I did not build it but was told it is a Ford auto suspension (Escort perhaps?) Just so I can refresh...
...It really helps to have a benchmark for whether it's worth it to do a DIY or buy one ready made. There isn't one specific to my particular tent, as far as I know, but it's similar enough to basically every other clamshell out there that I'm confident I can rig a factory liner to work with my rtt.
...winter for my M100 and using some of your ideas for inspiration. How was the CG of the trailer handling off road obstacles on your CO trip?
My tent and awning will be near 300lbs on a frame about as high as yours, so I'm curious if you had any close calls with rolling it, or if you had to be...
...your too heavy.....Ok I agree, my F350 is 8800+ lbs and is too wide for some trails. (10" wider than a Toyota) or too tall for a RTT (roof top tent) or too heavy for soft terrain....I agree.... so I just have to pick and choose the trails I ride! I like wide open spaces of the mountain...
