Thanks for the replies everyone! looks like this will do what i want it to. For the battery life i understand that its going to be impacted by bluetooth, however i plan on keeping it plugged in (most of the time) while in use so I'm not too concerned about that.

So, I have not used them personally but people over on Mud recommend Mudrak up in Sonoma; i got a recommendation for them for my 100 series land cruiser but never looked into them further because of the distance (im in south san jose). Good Luck
There is a land cruiser shop in San Carlos, A+ Japanese Auto Repair. I haven't taken my truck up there personally but when i was looking into shops they were recommended. I know there is a place up in Sonoma that does heavy modifications on trucks as well (mudrak).
Haven't seen the desert Armor before, but it seems like a lot of the iKamper competitors like the Roofnest Condor XL, Torro offroad, tuff stuff alpha. As far as i can tell all of the competitors are made in China whereas the iKampers are made in S. Korea. Not that that necessarily means anything...
