Charles creek is fun for the family; my wife and kids love it. It’s pretty easy if you stay on the trail. Several good primitive campsites on trails, but If you don’t want primitive camping, Talullah river campground Is nice and near the start of trail, if going east to west
Thanks! I've always been a BFG guy, but I've heard good things about the Patagonias, and the BFG KM3s I've been looking at are 2.5 times the price. So, I'm excited to try the Patagonias out.
Boostpowered, I'm looking into purchasing the Milestar Patagonias and would appreciate an update since your last post. I'm interested in how they've worn, how effective they are off road in the different conditions, and if you have any steering wheel vibration at high speeds. Thanks!
Nice rig, should be fun to drive on the trail...just be advised that there may be some narrow sections with protruding branches that may scratch/cause pin-striping to side of truck.
Any updates regarding your LR4 snorkel experiment? I'm interested in adding a snorkel and curious if you're still experiencing faults or having any issues running it, as well as lessons learned from your experience. Thanks.
Unfortunately, I can't go. I would absolutely like to go, but I'm going to be a bit busier than I thought over the next few months and I won't have the time in August. However, things will be settled and I will have the time in spring for the Kentucky run. Enjoy the trip and thanks for the...
A-Aron,
I was holding off on the planning until I knew if Colorado's Alpine Loop would be open in late June, but just spoke to park ranger and she said the snow, water accumulation and avalanches were so bad this year parts, if not most, of the loop may not open at all this year...so looks like...
12C20, great point, this brings up a good question for A-Aron and/or anyone who knows, are there a few can't miss spots on the Traverse where if I only had 2-3 days, these are the sites to see?
My brother and I discussed just starting the trail and making a call by the evening of the second...
Neal, great info, thanks! We were initially going to spend the 5 days in Colorado, but we were burned last year...My brother and I were on our way from California to the Alpine Loop last October when I called a Ranger while driving through Utah and was told the snow had started and it wasn't...
A-Aron, thanks for reaching out. My brother and I both sleep in our rigs, so we're
A-Aron, thanks for reaching out. My brother and I sleep in our rigs when we hit the trails, so as long as a few rocks can level me out, we're comfortable anywhere...but I've read there are great camp spots on...
Brother and I will be driving this from west to east in June for the first time. Have five full days, but also want to drive Colorado’s Alpine Loop.
If anyone’s done the trail, I’d appreciate your insight, guidance or recommendations. Thanks
FYI, we’re experienced on trails, too include...
I have the PR SYA Off Road Extension Kit...bought it for off road capability and to fit my larger 275/65r18 KO2's. I like knowing that my bump stops are 2" higher so I can get off the trail, plus I like the way the lift looks (kit comes w/lift rods). I installed it about a year ago, hit the...
