Thanks man! I appreciate your input! It's going to be a trial and error thing for sure. I'm sure I'll run into situations where the set up will change a few times before I have it dialed in just the way I need it for the things that I intend to use it for.
Are there any overland day trails one could explore in a mostly stock vehicle? I have a 94 Ford Explorer I'd love to get some dirt on and take the family out on a day trip through the backwoods of Idaho. Any input would be great and I would even entertain the idea of traveling with a fellow...
I priced out the initial amount of stuff I want to do to the Sequoia, and it's going to cost me over 7k to do. I'm going to have to get some mad brownie points with the wife in order to get away with it! Lol
I looked up CBI and they are based out of Idaho Falls, ID which is pretty close to me. They don't support the Sequoia but maybe they'd fab some stuff up for me if I brought it out to them. Nice looking build man. I'm also well versed in the deployments. I'm prior service but now go out to remote...
I love those 4Runners. All the generations of them have great style and nice capability but I have a hard time bringing myself to pay the premium price for something that has over 200k miles on it. It's just crazy how they hold on to their value so well. Good for you man and I can't wait to see...
Thanks Luis! I took a drive into Boise today and counted 10 first gen Sequoia's driving around. It was fun paying attention to see how many I can find.
You bring up a really good point about weight. Expedition Overland sank their Toyota 100 series with an overland trailer up in AK. I imagine the Sequoia is going to be even heavier then that. I'll have to look up your build thread about your ford. I'd be real interested in seeing that.
Hey James! I'm down in Mountain Home so maybe sometime we could meet up!
I chose the sequoia because they seem to be super reliable. People driving 400k+ miles on them with no issues. I currently have a Cadillac SRX with 188k and it's nothing but problem after problem. I had watched some...
Hello! Just saw this thread and knew I had to throw my info out there too. I'm out in Mountain Home and am going to pick up a Toyota Sequoia. Would love to network and eventually take a ride with the group.
Hey Thanks @Jedi I appreciate that. I'll be sure to check out the rally point system and I'll take a look at that Northwest Region forum as well. I posted on the sequoia forums but haven't heard much. I'm afraid there isn't a whole lot of activity over there so I thought I'd try and look for a...
Good Morning Everyone!
I am looking into getting into Overlanding and have chosen the first gen Sequioa as my platform of choice. A few things I wanted to bounce on you guys before I make the purchase to get one though as I want to be sure I can find the parts that I want.
1. I'd love to be...
