You need a buck converter. Cheapest place to find a buck converter is a USB 2 amp car charger. I used the buck converter in the fan controller. The PC Fan controller plugs into the 12 volt rail of the PC Power Supply and then distributes power to the fans, switches, thermostat, and sometimes...
Not without an inverter. What I like about the PC fan is that it is 5 volts instead of 12 so it uses a lot less power than a 12 volt fan, and you can get a PC fan controller with temp sensor.
I started dehydrating mushrooms and tomatoes to take on my trips. I want to start trying meats next. My dehydrator is a air fryer with a dehydration setting.
How do you dehydrate chilly and pasta sauce… that would be awesome weight saver.
The ViAir compressors are both water proof and dust proof. I wouldn’t hesitate to mount it under the Ex where the spare tire was. As for an AGM deep cycle mounted under there, get a Marie battery box and vent it at the top and incorporate a one way drain valve at the bottom and you will be fine.
The heating pad for RV tanks is safe to touch the batteries them selves. I built my battery box using an RV tank heating pad as the floor of my battery box. Temp is set to come on at 37 degrees and shuts off at 42 degrees. You don’t want the box getting colder than 35 degrees or over 110...
I’m similar to you, but opposite. The trip to the woods is my medication, the relaxation of being isolated and alone is what brings me out of the depression. Now tearing down camp for the last time, and heading on the last stretch of road back home… the anxiety returns with a big dark cloud of...
My longest single day ride was 90 miles… longest overnight was 120 miles round trip. I’m wanting to do a 7 day 300 mile trip through Hells Canyon by the end of the summer… if I get the gearing by then.
I don’t have a mountain bike anymore. I sold my last mountain bike about 25 years ago, and probably hand the ridden it in 10 years prior to that. I started riding last summer again on a hybrid bike and beating the FS roads with it, and decided I needed a better all around bike for my type of...
To bike thieves the age of the bike doesn’t matter. It’s how easy it is to access the bike… Older Hardtails are becoming popular for “cheap” gravel bike builds.
For secretary I use a Kryptonite New York U-Lock through frame and rear wheel with a Kryptonite cable lock going through the U-Lock...
You make a good point, however we use the 4Runner for our daily driver. @KRose works swing shift, so when she gets off at 11:00 pm we hit the road. We need a place to keep the Gazelle T4 Plus on the rig secured and out of the elements. Right now she is upset with me because our sleeping bag...
I have run OB for 18 hours straight running on my iPhone 13 Pro Max and my iPad 7 plugged into my 1989 bronco cigarette lighter socket staying at 100% and while listening to music I have downloaded and the passenger watching movies on the iPad.
I run 100 watts on a 2 AGM Deep Cycle batteries for field day every year… I bring my Genny, but don’t run it. Three years ago I had a random wire 60’ end fed antenna set up as a sloped only 30’ in the air at one end and 3’ off the ground at the feed point. This antenna worked ok, but I had...
