I somehow just saw your message from last September -- and would be excellent to meet up. I've met a couple of other Overland Bound members in Chattanooga -- we got together in Common House, which is sort of club on Mitchell Ave -- but would love to meet anywhere.
I'm usually close to...
I just want to be on some land with a few people who also want to be o the land. I don't like to worry about stuff but if the other people in the land want to worry about stuff or get lawyers or documents or whatever that's OK with ne and just want everyone to do what they feel like they want...
OK about conservation trust being no good. Don't really want to do any kind of trust or any kind of legal documents.
Really just want to get some land and be on the land with a few people who also want to be on the land. Sort of like getting a house and living in the house with a few other...
Not worried about liability. Its the same as any person who owns a house and invites friends over.
Just want to get some land and invite some friends to the land & we do stuff we like doing.
Oldman,
Definitely not thinking any kind of commune. Just some land in a nice location that people can use as a basecamp for overlanding expeditions & do anything else they like doing.

Just a sort of Base Camp for overlanding expeditions. And anyone who likes doing other things can do whatever they like doing. Definitely no commute rules or anything. Just some land in a nice location where people can do stuff they like...
Hey JimSoG,
Yep, might be easiest to just get some land in my name and anyone who wants to be there can be there.
But still like the idea of seeing if I can be a person whomlives totally off the grid without my name on any kind of papers or documents so would be excellent if there were...
Hey leeloo,
Interesting and I didn't know there were other people doing something similar. Would love to know more about what they're doing. Are they people on Overland Bound?
Totally agree about not needing any complicated legal stuff. It shouldn't be difficult to just get a bit of land in a...
Hey KAIONE,
Thanks for the reply and yes probably some kind of land trust would work. Saw there's also something called a conservation trust which might work since I'm thinking it would be land in the mountains or desert and it would be off grid withiut any major buildings etc.
Yes would need...
Or if anyone wants any kind of contract that's also OK and happy to do any contract anyone wants. But mostly I just want to find an easy way to get some land and use it as a sort of off grid base camp for overlanding expeditions & doing stuff people like to do.
Hi Tundracamper,
I'm not thinking really lots of land, possibly even just an acre or so. Taxes wouldn't be a lot & I would pay the taxes or I would give cash for taxes etc to the person or people whose name is on the land.
Think a person can get some amount of land as a gift without needing...
Hadn't thought of that & yes a land trust might work. Basically I just want to get some land & create a sort of Overlanding Base Camp village on the land (not necessarily any buildings, mostly just a base camp for overlanding expeditions, but might build some basic buildings & other overlanders...
I'm thinking about buying some land somewhere no more 1 o 2 hours from Chattanooga TN or possibly somewhere out West & looking for people who might be interested in living on the land & also using it as a sort of Base Camp for overland expeditions to other locations. I plan to live on the land &...
Good to know & guessing they work pretty well. Thought about getting an agm battery (think it's called agm) but was told you can drain them only half way before needing to recharge. Seems like the Battle Born is a good way to have a lithium battery that you can use in extreme cold.
Anyway...
Thank you! Hadn't thought of looking for a HAM radio store but, right, makes sense that HAM radio places would have CB radios too.
Really appreciate the reply & Cheers, M
Anyone know of a place in North Carolina or Tennessee where I can buy a CB radio and get it installed? I know nothing about CB radios other than some stuff I've read on the internet and feel like it would be easier if I could walk into a shop and ask someone what I need. Seems not easy to find...
