Last summer for my birthday I was given a Viair Heavy Duty OBA kit. supposedly these are "ready to install"
for my purposes i threw out most of the kit outside of the compressor, hoses and tank. If I could do it again I would piecemeal the whole thing instead of the kit, route. The in box kit...
running the ARBs finally pushed me over the edge to install my air tank that i had been holding on to. I looked at a few different tank options and decided on locating it where the Evap was. Evap got relocated over axle and after a battle with a CEL from an upsidown Leak detection pump I made a...
This is where things start to get interesting. I had been a member of JK forum for awhile, and with the luck on winning the light bar i figured, why not enter every contest i come across...I entered in their mega-awesome prize pack giveaway for a Currie RJ44 Housing, ARB, Ten factory axles and...
A Craigslist search for an old winch to rehab yielded a steal of a deal on the bumper I had my eyes on, so that went on as well. I figured a winch without a mount was like putting the cart before the horse. a Cobra 75 cb also was installed.
Spod was finally installed to safely control the compressor and a 20" black oak bar that was won in a giveaway was mounted shortly after as well. The bar gets a TON of use in fall/winter and its just the right amount of light.
October 2016- i had changed rear pads on the vehicle and guess i missed the torque spec on caliper slide bolts. Oops...this happened on RT95 right before the Del Mem bridge on a sunday . Thanks to an advance auto parts and some good ole mcgyver ingenuity I was able to limp home with a temp...
July 2016 my wonderful wife got me a Viar OBA system, i hacked it together after the birth of our second for a trip that september, My install involved a Fuse tap, house wiring and some other sketchy hookups. It worked but was no where near permanent... or sustainable...
next step was the lift. I settled on a Metalcloak 1.5" kit which is 2.5" 2 door springs, some brackets and bumpstops. 285/70/17 Falken At3s and Spidertrax,
I ran the stock shocks for about a week while i waited for my Fox 2.0 Resi shocks to arrive. even without the new shocks the difference...
the first mod was fabbing up a dead pedal. our first road trip I was searching for a place to rest my foot, Its a bit hack but it gets the job done. I still need to adjust it further out by about an inch but it works,
Second mod was the Rhino rack backbone. the install was a bit nerve wracking...
Im a little behind on this and finally have had a minute to gather everything up to put this build thread together. Ive been going through all my images and figured hell, why not put this together.
In 2014 we welcomed our son into the world.
At the time I was driving a 2000 XJ with no AC, that...

I've been extremely happy with my Grizzly 60. Depending on menu It's got enough space to hold enough cold goods for 4 days for 5 adults plus beer[emoji1303] and it fits perfectly N/S in the back of the JKu I would like to get a 40 or 20 for shorter trips but can't see myself spending the cash...
I've been extremely happy with my BlackOak setup.
20" combo bar with flood pods on the a pillars. The light has been awesome for every day use and really projects. It's been on for about a year now and I've got no complaints.
