Any trailer you choose will need to be fairly light with a low tongue weight, otherwise your Jeep won't be very happy (the JKU has a 350 lb tongue weight rating when equipped with the tow package, with a 3500 lb towing limit).
I towed my Intech Pursue with my JKU Backcountry for a short while...
The bigger question is what kind of off-road driving are you intending to do?
I'm a big fan of the Cooper Discoverer AT3 in all flavors; quiet, grippy in the dry, wet, and snow (and 3PMSF rated, too).
Diode Dynamics SL1s in the high and low beam positions and Morimoto XB LED projectors for the foglights.
Very very happy with the performance on dark backroads.
If you want even better lighting performance, go with the BajaDesigns pocket kit with the wide/fog lens. My buddy with the blue Z71...
I chose the Colorado because it drove better, I fit better, the technology was better, and the deal was better. If I was to choose between the ZR2 and the TRD Pro Taco - the ZR2 would win 100%.
The aftermarket is certainly improving for the twins, and as many have said... Tacoma reliability...
Fantastic info documented in here, nice work.
I knew about the diff breathers and where they extended to, did not know about the transfer case and trans breathers and that they were extended as well. That’s great.
I agree, though - there are a lot of nice little touches that shows GM was...
Gaia works great from my experience - I've been using it for my navigational purposes without any hitches. However, I am not using it as a turn-by-turn navigation, rather I'm using it as a track on a visual map. Works great for that.
@Xplorer313 has done a great job putting together this route...
Thought I had shared this on OB - but I guess I didn't. Last weekend we tackled another section.
This segment stretched from Route 72 to Route 563, and was largely within the confines of Wharton State Forest. In terms of trail conditions... this was a much drier day than the first run, and...
I've been wondering about swapping the step inserts out for the ZR2 step-less inserts, as well. Everything appears to bolt on, I doubt it'd be a difficult swap.
First off, big thanks to @Xplorer313 for sending over the track. Couldn't have done this without his version of the route.
Anyways, this past Sunday, a friend of mine and I met up and tackled a section of the TNJT.
The TNJT is a route that was originally mapped out by two-wheeled adventure...
We hit dirt in Jackson around 10:30 - pulled onto 72/Barnegat Road at 4:30. Followed the route to a T, we may have seen you just south of Whitesbog. I saw a flash of an adventure bike cross the trail. Not sure if it was red or orange, though.
I'll add a writeup in a bit, enjoyed the route...
Should be hitting a fair bit of the center section of this tomorrow with a buddy. Just want to get out and explore the pines a bit.
Thanks for sending over the track, Leon!
