My Family and I are building a home in Tennessee. I'm looking for help in designing and or Installing a solar system, that will give us the same usage we have now. Computers, refrigerator, tv's, all your basic needs! Thanks in advance
Right on David, your sig says Golden Valley, didn't think about Summerlin! LOL! Ok, thanks.......I'll add you to the list. Can you make cell calls through Starlink? I read that they were testing that a few years ago and apparently you can. I may need to call Starlink directly and ask them. And...
...if I am away from the campsite and still have a cell signal to get alerts. It is more for SHTF scenarios plus all the food, brass, propane, solar panels and generators and water.
I am up in Summerlin next to the mountain so I'll be driving down - maybe cross Christmas Tree pass on the way...
Hey David,
Damn.....that's a hell of a set up!! How do you like Starlink? I've been thinking about getting it, especially now that it's on sale.......but haven't pulled the trigger yet. One of the things I was hoping, was that I'd also be able to use my phone with it when needed in the...
...height control and towing my Vector Offroad Armadillo trailer with 35in tires, independent suspension, 95L fridge/freezer, (4) 30l Fuel cans, lots of propane, hot water shower, 30g of water, sink, grill, all solar powered for unending electricity.
Are we traversing the AZ or CA side ?
Cheers!

...was loaded with extras included the 3 bar roof rack that works great for 1up bike racks, kayaks, etc. and dual propane tanks. I've added solar controller and a 100w flexible solar panel to the roof, a rear-door bug net, Victron blue-tooth power monitor, Ark XO off-road trailer jack and more...
BLUETTI solar generator with panels to power my rig off grid. Having a solar generator with the new LifePro battery system will insure a longer battery life.
Solar will now power fridge/freezer, lights, charger system for phone/drone/iPad and keep our new StarLink system up and running full time.
...You are going to soend money if you want the least amount of wasted energy. Hopefully you have a way to charge on the go like a portable solar panel. Inverters will have a constant draw on top of the inefficiency going from dc - ac. would recommend trying to get everything off of 12v to...
...I realize there's no clear right/wrong solution. But based on the input I've collected here and elsewhere, I'm leaning towards hooking the solar up to the Jackery, as I really don't want to risk depleting my car battery. In the future, I might consider mounting a dedicated Lithium battery...
Yeah generally speaking, higher voltage is more efficient and you run lower amps at the same wattage for longer, cooler runs on thinner wire. For a simple single battery setup I find sticking with 12v easier and more convenient.
...use vs. Ac. However, there is a recent trend in PowerStations for the internal battery to be 48V, not 12V, allowing higher amps, higher mppt solar charge voltages, smaller and cooler internal wiring. Examples include most recent Oupes, Ecoflow, and Pecron as of Jul24. Because of this, the...
...is both different and unique than my others, where generally design, re-wire, and install a 30-50 amp Professional RV lithium system with solar. This can be done with any Power Station of course.
In this film, I’ll actually rip out a brand new 300 amp Battle Born factory lithium upgrade...
...type you have but will usually be a few AH draw each. My surface pro is about 120w (10ah off 12v) which becomes more running off the inverter due to inefficiency. 5-7 days can be possible dependant on useage. you could very well extend the time (almost indefinitely) with a foldable solar panel.
...I have several USB ports and various accessories wired to battery (B+) in all my vehicles. Both my vehicles and my trailer run a permanent solar panel. This keeps my battery wired accessories from killing my batteries. If your battery goes to zero volts, you pull a ton of life from it. How...
I'm getting an Ursa Minor J30 camper top installed on my 2019 JLU in a week. They will install a 200w Renogy solar panel on top, along with a Victron controller. I also have a Jackery 1000 power station that I'd like to integrate into my system, so I can reliably power my fridge and other...
@Autism Family Travels I can get 2 days out of Jackery 240 and a 37 Quart FC40TMP, with the temp set to 34 Deg F. I paired that with a 100 W Aimtom foldable solar panel, and it can keep ahead of the fridge draw in most cases, even light to medium overcast
