Hi
We are now based out of North Fork, ID. Looking forward to exploring our new surroundings! Worked all late summer and fall restoring an 80 year old log cabin. Just moved out of the live in horse trailer just in time for winter. Anyone up for a snow run?
Sorry for your loss. Really sucks when you put your time, ingenuity and effort into your rig to make overlanding more fun and easier and someone else steels you’re hardwork an investment. Build it better and get back out there.
Today was tranny filters and fluid day in the 2500hd. You know they make two filter sizes for the pan filter? A deep pan and a shallow. You would think a truck that can pull 14.5k lbs would have a deep pan. that would be a nope..... Just like a house project, at least two runs to the store...
I finally got the brakes working again like they are supposed to. 80 series are Notorious for being difficult to properly bleed brakes and get good results After opening the braking system. I had the rear brakes professionally done cause I ran out of time before an adventure. Anyway after...
Howdy Neighbor
First a qualifier, I am biased towards the 80 series. I did my research in early 2000’s. I was driving a 1994 ford exploder as it had solid axels and had plans to convert it into an all around trail runner and rock crawler. Problem was all my friends and support crew drove...
I did my LX in July 2012 with Monstaliner to just above door handles. One of the hardest things I’ve done was take 100 grit to that beautiful paint. X2 on filling all the holes in the body of an LX. The Monsta liner has held up well. No more buffing custom pin stripping out:sunglasses:
Dollar store bowls 4 for a buck. Nesting bowls with measuring cups colander and strainer from Amazon. Joseph Jones 40087. We splurged and paid $26 for them. Just checked they want almost $50 now. Silverware from hospice for $3.
Outingdale is just over the hill from where we live currently. Still bear, lions, deer etc. still lots of remote canyons. There are folks growing excellent grapes and making great wine in the area now. In fact one of our friends had bears come in his vineyard and ate ALL his Termpernio...
Sweet! That will be fun. When you get her done we can go for a run. I have been collecting some bits and pieces for some upgrades from Wit’sEnd and Back Bay Custums that I will post up on “On What did you do with your rig this weekend” soon. We are out playing East of the Sierras.
cheers
Lanlubber you are correct. I forget to say we were traveling with another couple in another rig. They went to bed early ltao at me. Even though Both ladies are very independent and self reliant I would never leave them without a way out. The ranger station where we camped is only about 1/2...
Picture is Somewhere South and West of the Sheldon National Wildlife refuge NV. We dropped in out of the east side of the Warner Mountains. After camping near Patterson camp ground. Maiden trailer voyage.
Moved RTT from top of LX to trailer. It was tippy with the 6” lift and leaned way over...
while we were mending fence some friends of ours called and wanted to know if we might like to camp on some private property, as long as we were maintaining social distancing.... so we loaded up a couple mules into the overland trailer, hooked the truck up and headed out. 90 minutes later...
So we had a real jail break. Neighbors animals decided they were tired of quarantine so they broke out and came down to visit. Well our animals were not happy about being visited during quarantine. So as they all met at the fence and they got to shoving and kicking and making all kinds of...
