Sounds like there is more than enough interest! As the date draws closer (when we are Frreeeeeeeeeee) I will setup a Rally Point event and post a message on this post.
Will be a good time.
Stay safe all,
Mike
I feel like when we get out of this Shelter-in-Place, the Central CA guys should plan a Bald Mountain Day/Overnight Run! Would be a great way for us all to get together and do a meet and greet.
Glad to see so many Overlandbounders from the Central Valley!
So is it a suggestion.....or illegal? Cause we aren't going to Inyo County. LOL
I'm kidding, I understand the importance of staying indoors. Our trip isn't till April 5th, so we still have some time to plan to go or not go....
@Road I totally understand.
We aren't going till April 5th, which at this point is after the 15 day Self-Quarantine period...at least at this time.
Well, back to the garage to organize and work on the Jeep for the 15th time this week. LOL
@Road I get the info, but don't know if I validate that myself and the rest of the group stopping in for gas or cheetos will be a catalyst for humanities demise. And the group that we are going with will not cut fences, leave trash, or create mayhem. That I am sure of.
I was on IG...
Unless there is a gate, I think you technically can drive in, just not use the campgrounds, visitor centers or perhaps the bathrooms too. I don't actually think there is a gate to block the entrance to Joshua, or Death Valley, Anza Borrego etc for that matter. I've never seen one.
Trip planned for April 5th in Anza Borrego.... I'm still planning on going on the adventure, even though it sounds like the California State Parks (namely designated campgrounds and visitor centers, which we will not be stopping at either) may be closed during the time.
Have you had to cancel...
Hey gents and gals! Happy New Year!
It's that time of year for our planning and prep for a Spring Break Trip. I was planning to do the Southeastern ORegon High Desert in April 2020, buuuut after doing more research and talking with the Oregon Rangers, they said that that time of year may be...
Hello Overlanders!
For the last three summers, I have gone through Death Valley, Mojave and the Eastern Sierra High Deserts. This year, I need to plan for next Spring Break (April 2020, wow) and am thinking more of an area in Southeastern Oregon, Idaho, or somewhere in that general area. Any...

I too suffer from phat bottom girls syndrome. I don't have the AEV coils/lift, but have RE Progressive coils and upon loading up my Jeep for overlanding or multi-day offroading, the tail gets quite heavy. I have thought of adding a puck lift .5 rear/.75 front to equate for the heavy...
Attached is my itinerary for a group of overlanders through Death Valley. Perhaps, it will give you an idea of a routing or course you could take. Happy Death Valley'ing! Love that area!
Make sure you stop at Father Crowley on your way in or out of the park. The jet fighters flying through is...
For the Buck Rock Trail, my understanding if I remember from my last trip is there isn't a gate, so the trail is technically "always" open. Now the fire lookout typically operates from June to October and may be closed at the time of your run...
