    Overlanding with an infant?

Not only have we done it, we went fulltime on the road with a 3 month old and a 1 1/2 yr old. My best recommendation is to buy a quality Recaro car seat with the infant headrest insert. Yes, it is pricey upfront. But here is the thing, my oldest is now 4yrs old and we still have this car seat...

    Drones for videography and stills

Ohhhh..... I suspect a Mavic Pro update might be on the horizon based on the camera specs on that thing. That is tempting. I've really been into my Mavic Pro since we bought it. We traveled full-time for two years, and I avoided buying a drone, thinking it was gimicky and that I wouldn't use...

    Days Planned vs. Supplies Planned

I actually rotate in an out a survival pack. I usually don't pack past what's expected, but always take the survival pack which has about 5 days rations and extra water. But I'm not bringing 50 cans of beans. Plan for the worse, hope for the best.

BoldAdventures 2015 Ram Power Wagon Build

So, I've started a video series on our build. The first video is up, detailing why we chose the Power Wagon. Working on the next video going over our mods to our truck, some of my thoughts on the parts. And the third video will detail our overlanding/camp setup. And the fourth one, I plan on...

    2016 Power Wagon

They're not the only ones on the market. They're overpriced for what they are, especially since they charge an extra 599 for removable cross bars when it should come standard. Dethlof Mfg. builds a rack designed for Ram trucks. Not a one size fits all that you'll see on Fords and Chevys.

Truck Racks for 2018 Ram Power Wagon

Shame I didn't see this thread sooner. I have a Dethloff Mfg. rack. I love this thing. Looks way better than that crap from Nuthouse. Designed to fit and match the Ram trucks. It's strong as heck, and comes with removable cross bars. Works with Ram Box trucks and is the only rack that can ship...

2016 Ram 2500 power Wagon/2013 Jeep Wrangler Jk.

I'd chose Thuren Fab over Carli. Don't get me wrong, Carli is an ok company. But they've got customer service issues and have had some recalls. Most of there stuff is set and done. You can go more custom with Thuren and Don always answers his emails. I like that I can reach out to the owner anytime.

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I'd say it's a safe wager that most don't even bother to attempt to wheel their rig in stock trim. I've done a ton of trails stock. That's how you learn your rig and it's limits. And that is the best way to plan a build, with experience. But most just get online and start looking for tires and...

Why are there so few Silverado overland rigs?

I have always been a GM guy, but I have something very different now, and I have a few thoughts. And some of it carries over to the F-150 and even the 1500 Ram. Nope, we're about the same in terms of width and a very negligible difference in wheelbase. There is a perceived notion that a...

What do you consider a "trail?"

I think the big difference is the forest service or BLM is usually attempting to maintain roads and check on the conditions. How rough or passable they are is another subject. And in most cases not trails. They exist but can be overgrown, or underutilized. Here in Idaho down in the SW desert...

What do you consider a "trail?"

Yes, and even a Kia Soul can be an overlander because it doesn't matter what you drive. What would the point of this thread be then? Why have definitions at all? Becuase they are useful to know what we're talking about and describing. Proper context matters. It's dandy people get out and...

What do you consider a "trail?"

Yup. I just go by the standard defs used by the BLM, NFS and basically the rest of the department of interior. We have some tight FS roads too. Some that aren't friendly. But here when we had several forests last year and mudslides the they put up indicators of which roads and systems were down...

What do you consider a "trail?"

This is a trail. This is also a trail. FS Roads are just that, dirt roads. You're not on a trail. This is a FS Road. This is a FS Road. Not a trail. Argue away about how your car camping is overlanding and how you're on a trail, but the USGS and the NFS also make the distinction in their...

Ugh, crapola, I would love to make it out, but pretty sure I'm not going too. I have to much to take care of still tonight. I just finished launching a website for an event we host, still gotta work out, haven't eaten, blah blah blah. Sorry guys. I swear I'm a real person. How was the trip man?
