    Any Hunters Among Us?

Grew up in NW Colorado, hunted big game, upland birds and migratory geese and ducks. Don't hunt much now, mostly fishing although I will put in for a deer license this coming year. Knees have gotten bad enough both up and down mtns. are a literal pain.

You are probably right. I do consider a Tourniquet as a last resort measure due to the damage it may cause, and agree with direct pressure if possible. My focus on a quick clot type of treatment is only because serious bleeding in a remote area may cause serious blood loss before access to...

What is the last thing you bought and plan to buy?

Not sure why all of my projects are going sideways. Rock sliders aren't matching with the pinch seam. Front bumper, cant thread a couple bolts, hi-lift jack mounts need some fillers as I thought the top rail was a 1 inch rather than the 3/4 it turned out to be. Still waiting on my son to come up...

    Lets Talk Cameras

I mostly have my cell on me, a Galaxy S8. I take lousy pics so it works for me. My youngest son is the owner of Venture Photography, and while he shoots several DSLRs, he still says the best camera is the one you have with you. :)

    Paint Your Wagon

Sounds like a great ride. When the highcountry melts out next spring, I plan to head up into Owl Creek Pass where the final meadow fight scene in the original True Grit was filmed.

What Did You Do With Your Rig Today?

    Wow, I am impressed.

I really appreciate what thought and effort you have put into this. Additionally, I would like to add, don't be afraid of buying a kit and add to it. Both my youngest son and I have done the research on a couple of different kits, and we couldn't put together the same kit for less price. For the...

Adventure fishing...put your pic where your mouth is...no tall tails here

Awesome. Fished the Chena a few years ago for grayling. They are a ball to catch.

Getting it done on the Cheap

I looked at those also, and think they would be great if you want to take shovel, axe, hi-lift, etc. off your veh. when not overlanding. I tend to leave everything on mine and have lockable mounts, although with some creativity these may also be.

Great thread and ideas. I carry everything I can think of, but run into storage issues. Not to hijack the thread, but how do you all store these items other than the one tray shown. At this point I have a 50 caliber ammo box, a milk crate and a kitty litter container to hold tools, lubricants...

How many still overland camp in the snow?

Never have minded camping in the snow with the right equipment. My youngest goes snowshoe camping with just a backpack. The issue I have around here is all the best high country pass roads are closed off in the winter, not to mention a big reason I offroad is for the fishing which is froze over...

What keeps you from overlanding more?

The usual, when I have the time, I don't have the money. When I have the money, I don't have the time.

Strange occurrences and tales of the unexplained!
