Looking to buy my fourth PU truck camper. I've had both hard side and pop-up types in the past. Back when 4WD trucks were relatively affordable, I'd take them into extreme areas off road. After destroying a hardside with this type of travel, I bought a pop up. But now we use ATVs to get deep...
After a few close calls with bears, I wouldn't camp in a tent in bear country without some type of perimeter alarm/defense. Electric shock wire would be best, but a flash bang type device would be acceptable. I like a good nights sleep and bears in my campsite freak me out big time!
I'll be driving down from Cape Cod Massachusetts area on Thursday night with my grandson. Will arrive Friday morning. General camping area with a RTT on my pickup. Looking forward to it!

This past winter I built a RTT trailer to do a bit of Overlanding Camping......Well, CoVid entered the discussion and trip after trip got cancelled. This past week I had reason to travel to New Hampshire to compete in a Cowboy Action Shoot and instead of taking the big travel trailer I decided...
BTW...That Duracell battery is available from Sam's Club for $179.......Can't beat that with a stick! I have two of them in my toy hauler for just over 5 years and when I tested them under load for my electric conversion garden tractor, they tested like new! I never let them get below 65% and...
