Just looked up what I have. It's called Hypervent.
It won't be as finished as the Tepui mat, you'll have to cut and piece it to fit. Might be a little cheaper. But it's used in the marine industry for a long time now, and I imagine they know something about wet environments.
I hate the sun glare off of my hood, especially around the cowling around the "air scoop". Seems to catch my eyes way too often.
I had the hood wrapped in vinyl, loving it so far.
Also added a Roadshower, great for rinsing off after a bike ride.
I can answer questions about the Alu-Cab if needed.
I'm also heading to my niece's wedding in Columbia mid September. If scheduled align and you want to see the tent in person, we might be able to hook up.
I bought a condensation mat and it works well. I don't know what Tepui sells, I bought the mat that they use on boats. On some mornings I lift the mattress and mat and can see water, but the mattress is dry. The mat provides air circulation so the water can evaporate.
Well worth it in my opinion.
If the discussion is along the lines of "you have $1500 to spend on a tent, and it needs to hold up under the most weather conditions", then sure, a ground tent is the better buy. Maybe at any price level.
I went a different route. I bought a roof top tent that is likely to exceed anything I...
Yakima does a really poor job of explaining what their products can do that isn't "normal".
If you don't have luck with them, try Rack Attack. They usually have good answers.
