I've got a 2003 2500 LQ4 4WD burb I've been building beefing up suspension for a while. Cognito 2.5" leveling kit, steering brace, Fox shocks, rare parts tie rods, idler, pitman and bracket etc. For a full size it goes anywhere a full size should go..lol very capable platform well built easy to...
Nice i think the GMT800 is the best gen;) ive got an 03 2500 burb. Id go with 285/75/16 and a cognito leveling kit with a 2" lift block i can go a lotta places with this setup.
The leveling kit can be added to a 4" Cognito lift kit so future proofed. Actually never felt like i needed more on the trails ive been on. Its been rock solid with the exception of a blown shock but got it rebuilt back in business.
Assuming you have a half ton Suburban? Id do a 2" spacer lift and 285/75/16 ATs this setup will get you a lotta places. If 2500 check out my thread on my build.
Ill be keeping the Suburban cause hauls bunch a peeps, gear and goes lotta places. Plus i can sleep in it. Id be interested in getting the Bronco Sport Badlands for my wifes daily driver though she digs it and looks plenty capable.
Hows your build? Sorry havent been on in a while.
2003 Chevy 2500 Suburban - my IRS setup: Cognito UCA 2.5" torsion lift kit w/Fox shocks, Cognito idler and pitman steering brace, Rare Parts HD tie rods, pitman and idler arms, idler arm bracket. All new energy bushings and Sumo Springs bump...
Yes. Fixed the clunking noise over and no more play in steering wheel over night and day. Smoother steering less vibration from over rough roads so pretty happy with it.
Decided to replace my intermediate steering shaft and steering bearing for the Clunky noise on my 2003 2500 Suburban this fix is for 2000-2006 GMT800 SUV and Trucks.
Doorman steering shaft PN: 425-176
Doorman steering column bearing PN: 905-512
If you're putting larger diameter tires highly recommend doing the Cognito and Rare Parts stuff to strengthen your steering components up. They wear fast otherwise shit feels like crap after logging some miles off road and long trips. If lifting 2.5" from the Cognito setup is nice or do a...
The ones I installed are Sumo Springs not OE Z71. A much better product. Very Happy with them. No more sway and dampends ride. Thanks I like the tire size for the lift need a new set of BFGs. Agreed on the bumper iron cross is the only one I liked thus far...
It's been a while since I've been on busy with work life need to get back out on the trail. Anyway I finally completed my steering setup with Rare Parts Extreme duty idler arm, idler bracket and pitman arm. This is a must for oversized tires on any GM 01-10 Heavy Duty truck and SUV. The floaty...
Hey all been outta pocket a while BDS Coil over setup is sweet! But damn $5k is a little steep since I'd be swapping out my existing cognito kit completely. If this was available back then I would have done a coil over swap.
Side note finally swapped out my throttle body kept going into reduced...
