Oh and when people say “ well I have ___ rig with _____ tires and have never been stuck “ is absolutely the dumbest statement on the face of the earth. You can get stuck on a gravel driveway with lockers and the best tires in the world If things just go a little more wrong than the tires can...
Well I wouldn’t say it was really just a fight between Billy Bob and him he said the same thing about my Xterra when I put bigger tires on it or really any vehicle that someone wants to put larger tires on And always responds that putting 35s on a vehicle will destroy the ride which going along...
But but but it’s not stock on 32” tires how can it possibly be a overlander ?!?!! Put it back to stock and start over again and this time focus on lights and maxtrac mounts ...... lol
Awesome build !!!!!!!
All depends on what you consider overlanding , dragging a stock rig through rocks and deep two tracks , constantly getting stuck and having to pull , jack up , rig out . Sounds like a rather miserable day compared to being able to slowly crawl over stuff with maximum traction causing less damage...
I wouldn’t worry about it too much unfortunately overlanding or car camping as it was called back in the day Has become very elitist where even the founders of this website say take out whatever you can and go explore is pushed aside because you need a RTT and a ham radio or your not allowed in...
Well just by looking at his rig I don’t think multi country drives are the main goal of it . And I know people always say a stock rig can go 99% of the places they need to go but their are some who would rather spend their travel time tackling that 1% the other people don’t go to truly get away...

Backpacking made me fall in love with Hammock tents It was so nice to be so comfortable At night , although getting in the bag...
Some people seem to think if you keep it stock it will never break, but there’s plenty of times a stock vehicle will have to struggle and work hard to get through an obstacle that a slightly more built vehicle will simply drive over with no troubles whatsoever.

Look up

Abiquia falls
Panther creek falls
And I’m blanking on a bunch of other ones but I’ll get back to you
Honestly if you want 4-5 people in a rig with gear look into a full size and stick to moderate trails and just enjoy the experience of being outdoors . You can have just as much fun bobbing down FS roads and ending up at a epic spot with the fam as you will tackling the hardest trails you can...
Well 30 to 40 K is a budget. Where do you want to travel how many people do you have going with you do you want to ranch on your own vehicle or do you wanna buy something it’s ready to go?
Real mountain men don’t drive tocomas TheyFord F2 50s why would you assume that you could do such a thing and where is your flannel always wear a flannel and my god you better have a beard. Just kidding take whatever vehicle you have a throw a sleeping bag and some food in the back and go...
Give them some crayons and some paper and they will be entertained all day . Then when you stop give them a leaf . Let their imagination run wild . Kids will entertain them self’s if you let them
