Well to follow up I got a response from the US for service in Washington that told me that if the parks are being run by a third party then that third-party determines whether or not they accept an access pass or not.
And I forgot because of the virus they are not opening their office so I can't even talk to them face-to-face. But thank you cuz I saved it in case I need it for a later date.
That is very interesting because the national Forest and the ranger station where I'm at issues the America the beautiful access cards but apparently don't honor them.
Well rendezvous in the Ozarks is the 16th through the 18th of October I hadn't fully committed to it I really have this week to make up my mind. So just let me know the dates cuz outside of that I just have two VA appointments but they will be mid-week
Yeah there's signs all over here saying watch for snow plows. I didn't even see that sign in Red River and they're both about the same elevation. But I'm telling you man all the sirens the honking horns all the noise around here you guys really won't like it so y'all might want to think twice...
Well thanks for the information. After I got my access card, I didn't think there was anything else I needed to do. But being from Texas, we don't have a lot of us Forest land we don't have a lot of government land period. So for those people in States but have a lot of forest, BLM and parks you...
Using the Access Pass — Where It’s Accepted
The Forest Service, the National Park Service, Fish and Wildlife Service, Bureau of Land Management, Bureau of Reclamation, and US Army Corps of Engineers honor the Access Pass at sites where entrance, standard amenity or day use fees are charged. The...
Well if worse comes to worse I turn 62 in 3 months amount just get the senior pass cuz apparently that's accepted everywhere. And for the record after being turned down twice I didn't even ask on the third one I just filled out the form and put the number on it I guess we'll see how that works out
So how do I get an interagency pass? Is it the same as doing the America the beautiful? I just take my paperwork to the u.s. forest service? And why do they accept the America beautiful pass and the senior pass here in the national Lincoln Forest but not my access card?
I hear you on setting up camp. I have the gazelle overlander it's not a light tent but it does make up for the wait by the ease of setup. And I like the spots that I can open up the back of a Jeep and get the camp gear out without having to carry it very far.
Yeah I noticed that on the map. And it was really funny when I was passing through an area that had a bunch of camps grounds on the map a lot of them where in the Philmont boy scout area that was unaccessible unless I guess you're with the boy scouts somehow.
Really I have not heard that. I have been in other national Forest that accepted my access card. I guess that clears that up. Does it work the same way as the parks I just take it to the u.s. forest service office to get another type of access card?
Okay first off I have used my pole without any success but that's fine I'm still learning. One of the reasons why I am in a campground is that I am posting and documenting on the members resource map. So as soon as I get them all posted you will know where I have been and the resources I have...
