Hi OB people!
Just wanted to share this article right quick. It's in a virtual copy from an SF local adventure and cool shit supplier called Huckberry. (Not here to plug this brand, but I have purchased from them.)
The author sat down with the CEO and founder of ICON, a brand beloved by all in...
Awesome, that's great to know. We're pretty set on that spot for this trip. I'm hoping to get some good night photography near the ocean.
Do you guys have a favorite site number? It looks like some of them are pretty crowded together, but the ones toward the back of the site might be a little...
Oh sure. If we go to the spot we're planning currently, we'll be about 100 miles or fewer south of the Lost Coast.
I'm in a 2010 T4R Trail that is mostly stock. No winch, but lifted. Has a rear locker and A-TRAC.
I feel pretty comfortable, but don't feel I have enough gear should something...
The wife and I are planning to take a trip in a month or so. We have an 11-month old, so it's a "test the waters" type of trip. To see how he does camping, and how he'll do in long car rides.
We've taken him before, but he was so young he just slept while we bounced around in the hills.
Does...
I cannot find a 2006 copy of this for less than $40 - 50. Is it worth that much?
I've tried some pirate sleuthing, and no one's uploaded it as a PDF. Haven't tried torrents yet.
I had a 2-man tent that wouldn't fit the family, so we just upgraded to a Kodiak canvas. Built to withstand hell, made in America, canvas durability.
Wife and I are both tall people, so we're gonna enjoy the 6'6" height inside.

We use the extra-thick walled Omaha Steak foam coolers. We have a couple from several years ago that seem to be more dense and thicker than what I've seen used recently. We found them to be better than any purchased cooler we'd used.

I don't if it's true for sure, but I heard they were closing Scotty's Castle. If it's open, definitely worth seeing. The sand dunes are also very cool. I made a sandboard with the scouts by hand and we slid down those dunes. It's not as fun as it sounds.
Are you going very far West? If you...
Here are some photos of my ride. Just purchased a couple weeks ago. We did a slightly offroad trip to the coast.
Haven't done any significant mods yet. I think sliders are the first priority, then probably a roof rack. Not sure what after that.
It's a 2010 T4R Trail Edition, with a 3" Toytec...
Do you mean the Mojave Road through the Mojave National Preserve?

I've never driven it, but if that's the one you mean, it's about 150 mi from where I grew up.
